Mando: Philbin might bring Clements for OC

You are just hoping it works like that. He will go where the best contract is and no good agent will get him a contract with an easy out clause for the team if he does not play well.

I think that if Miami offers him a very competitive contract (and I think we would), he would definitely want to come here. We have weapons for him to work with and he'd be coming into a system he's got what, two years of experience in now? He'd also know that under Philbin he would be the guy, period. He wouldn't be getting benched for John Skelton like Kolb is in Arizona.

I would definitely think that if Philbin came here and has a high opinion of Flynn, Flynn would be our guy.

The article makes a good point to judge philbin on philbin not on the package he may or not bring from greenbay, as a fan thats hard to do, especially since the info on these cadidates is so minimal. I don't take too much away for not being the play caller because he's surely still implementing it and running it every day, correct? I wouldnt make the waiter/chef comparison so much... Because hes learned the recipe over the past few years, doubtful he is just blindly putting it out. Cant hurt being the right hand man of the guy calling one of the most exciting offenses in the league.

draft JOHN WAYNE .

I think it's safe to say that Philbin can assemble a better coaching staff then McCoy. Especially if he brings some of the best Packers Assistants to Miami.

If Miami hires Philbin you better believe it works like that way and honestly it should. Flynn could run the offense to a T and who the hell cares how much he will cost. If you have a out in the contractt you can get rid of him if he doesn't live up to expectations. And if he does you have yourself a franchise QB. You can then draft playmakers for a change instead of cornfed lineman.
Very similar to Holmgren taking Hasselbeck with him to Seattle.

I am not confident that he would be a good candidate for a head coaching job at this point. First of all, he is not emotionally ready to deal with a very unhappy fan base that will be up his a$@ at the slightest sign of trouble. Next, he doesn't call the plays for Green Bay. That is like the waiter taking credit for the food that the chef cooked. Finally, I am not sold on Matt Flynn. He looks like Scott Mitchell, or Kevin Kolb to me. I am disappointed that they did not take Zimmer. The Dolphins need a coach that will light a spark under the players. Philbin appears to be too soft spoken to me.
As iffy as I am on Flynn, I've never seen Kolb throw for almost 500 yards and six TDs in a game.

After going back and forth on these two guys, for me it filters down to this: The only reason I'm hiring McCoy is that he is 39 and might be the "next Don Shula." I don't think he is and Philbin can likely bring a better staff and Matt Flynn. My choice: Joe Philbin.
