Mando is dead on in this article. It is absolutely right. Win and have some success and the team can continue on with a lot of this roster and coaching staff…in other words NO "starting over".

Lose and not only is it blown up again…it is relatively easy to do that.

I do think if the team is blown up and rebuilt that Tom Garfinkel and Dan Marino have a chance to chart a path to success…I really do.

However, I am so tired of starting over. It is known that I am not a "Joe Guy", but I want success this year and continue on.

Go Fins!

We're done "starting over", we're done "blowing up", we're done rebuilding.. THIS IS OUR TIME!! :kick:

We need continuity.

We need patience.

Wash, rinse, repeat, wash, rinse, repeat...I'm getting used to it anyway. We'll learn a lot today.

Disagree. Joe needs to show improvement this year and so does RT. With the renovations coming to the stadium, plenty of contracts to jettison, possible players to trade for mid round picks, intelligent FO types like Garfinkel and Marino and good draft for QB's coming…there is no need to stand for the status quo.

The season is longer than Week One. However, I want to see an improved offense and at least a 9-7 record.

There could be some big name coaches available such as Jim Harbaugh, Gus Malzahn, Rex Ryan, Kevin Sumlin, Bob Stoops, Bill Cowher…just to name some off of the top of my head.

I could see Ross seeing a chance to start anew with Marino as more of a face, "a new stadium", a new HC and a spanking new QB whether a pick or a vet.

Do I want this to happen…sure if the team sucks this year. However, I want to see progress and keep the thing together.

Kinda what I was talking about last year. No starting over enough of that stuff

A lot of those things could happen that he mentions in the article even if we win IMO. Moving on to the rookies at LB, Wallace and Gibson etc.

This, my friends, is the Year of the Fin.

Getch'yo popcorn ready.

I think the coach is number one on that hot seat.

Tannehill number 2.

I could see a scenario where Philbin is booted and Tannehill stays......another where both are booted.

But....what I think is going to happen is we are going to take this division....knock on the door but probably fall just short.

Our offense will be the talk of the league....and we lose
Bill Lazor to a head coaching job elsewhere.

If things don't work out in San Francisco for Harbaugh this season, I can see him going back to college to take the Michigan job. Brady Hoke might be gone after this season.

Interesting take that I did not think off. Good work.

It is simplistic, but I could see the CBS connection of Marino and Cowher. I am just am making a connection.

Yeah, I do not normally agree with Armando, but he is right about this. We can either move forward or languish in mediocrity for another 5yrs.

Unless something bizarre happens and we get a legit shot to land Harbaugh Hickey isn't going anywhere after one season. To fire a GM after one season is rare in general and from everything we've seen of Ross he obviously prefers to err on the side of longevity. So with that in mind if the season isn't good he has to choose between two options:
1. let Hickey's 2 year contract play out which means it would make the most sense to keep Philbin one more year
2. he likes what he sees so much from Hickey that he wants to ensure he gets a proper term to show what he can do. In that case it would make sense to fire Philbin and give Hickey his own head coach.

Personally, I think Ross either wants this Hickey-Philbin-Tannehill thing to work or he wants to blow it all up and start from scratch at some point. To get out of this forced marriage cycle. For that reason and the fact that we can be reasonably sure Hickey will get at least 2 years I think it'll take something extraordinary for Philbin to be fired this season. And on top of all that I don't think Lazor comes here without some assurances that the staff isn't on some one season "playoffs or bust" ultimatum.

I like what Dennis has done this offseason, but no more shotgun marriages. Find an FO that comes into together with the same vision.
