Manning aside, I'm glad we haven't been aggressive yet in free agency...

The stupid decision would be to hope Marshall will not be suspended for more than 25% of next season, become a better person and find happiness all of the sudden on the team. The stupid thing would be to start out the Philbin era with trying to patch up our problems on the team in FA by overspending for talent that is not even top 15. Look how good using FA to build a winning team has worked around the league for the last few years (eagles, last years jets and so on) We are doing the only logical thing we can when faced with our current situation. Rebuilding in the hopes of having a winning team in the future.

Been rebuilding for years, how long you been a fan? Its the same story year in and out. New unproven coach getting rid of some old guys that are productive to bring high quality guys in. Guys he knows..after 2 years of below avg play, we start over. Still no QB, and now once again back to no solid WR. Hurry and bring another o-line man in and waste more time lowballing him. Philbin is setting up whatever QB is back there for failure.

TNot saying to pay Vjax but after giving yourself a glaring hole, you do you best to fill it. You don't give up a elite probowl wr for nothing, esp when your trying to BS me into thinking you are trying to lure Manning. You can't fill all these holes through draft, esp when you create more by the day.

Rebuilding? How is that possible when you have a new coach every few years. The only thing we have built and rebuilt is failure. Until Miami has an owner that learns that money doesn't buy success like it does in real estate and a front office that actually has had success in the past then we are doomed to repeat this misery forever.

Do you blame Jackson, Colton or even a 34 year old Reggie Wayne not wanting to come here when they have perennial pro-bowler Matt Moore throwing the rock?

Mediocrity for another year.

Man people sure do love being average.

Let's get more cornfed guys. No need for playmakers.

Thanks since there's no thanks button.

We didn't bring any of the guys you are talking about in for a look and Reggie Wayne is on tape saying how nice it would be to reunite with Manning in Miami weeks ago. What are you talking about?

You can't bring anyone in for a look that doesn't express interest. It has to be mutual. Wayne signed BEFORE manning has...the point was that teams are severly overpaying with guaranteed money for mid level talent already. A few players aside, the free agent paychecks are absurd.

We trade Marshall because of an incident, haven't signed a free agent yet....... People are in panic mode as usual. It gets pretty freakin comical on this board when free agency hits. See above  get your popcorn!

Freakin Comical ya right as in the Miami Dolphins last 10 years. Every time FA hits and when the seasons actually starts in when the laughs really start......no popcorn .....beer, lots of beer makes things even more comical ha ha ha......

We traded Marshall because he is inconsistent, prone to legal problems, we received two 3rd round picks, and the deepest position in the draft is wide receiver. I am waiting until after the draft to judgemthismoffseason.

Seriously?? Questioning someones fan-hood? That just makes it seem like you are diverting attention from your argument. If you want to know Ive been a fan since I was a kid during the time when we were great with Marino at the helm. I have watched football long enough to see that "FA dream teams" rarely work, Long enough to know that we shouldn't just assume Philbin/Sherman will fail because the other coaches failed.

It is plain as day to see that Marshall was still very troubled and wanted out of Miami. It is easy to see that with the amount of targets he got last year he dropped way too many passes. Marshall also throws people under the bus way too often, divides the team and has repeatedly been accused of sketchy behavior at nightclubs, his own house and whenever he gets around alchohol. He was a pretty good receiver for us but having marshall in the long run is a bad thing for the team.

Absurd is our WR core right now. We could have gotten Wayne for a decent price, esp if we were serious about Manning.

By the way, love how you make fun of Garcon when he almost put up 1000 in Indy last year. He sucks...lol

What I was saying was if you have been a fan for a long time, you would have seen the rebuilding stage with the last 4 coaches. I'm not as desperate to see it again while we get rid of productive players for nothing. If you have been a fan for a while, you should also know how hard it is to get a true #1 WR, because we haven't had one in decades.

We knew his behaviour when we signed him. Why rob ourselves of picks 2 years later and leave a big hole at the position, then don't even address it as a need in FA. Feel comfortable drafting our entire WR core besides Hartline and Bess this season? I don't.

I agree with this. As of this second, we have one of the worst WR cores in the league if not addressed early in the draft or at least partially addressed in FA. maybe Manningham? he's not a true #1 but probably better than we have now there is no true #1's left.
