Manning Is DONE, folks....

Im hearing conflicting reports from Emilio Estevez.

I feel this is it for Manning as well. He should just walk away from the game and throw his fist in the air while "Don't You Forget About Me" plays in the background.

I am living proof that this is true. Mine was a double discectomy with fusion and titanium plate with six screws at C5-6 and C6-7. My left arm fatigues very easily.

Did you have a injury or cervical disc disease? Did you have a ortho or nero surgeon? How far post op are you? If you dont want to answer here you can pm me.

You all just need to let it rest. Indy knows this. Dan Marino ultimately had to retire because of neck issues. If the nerves to the arm are impinged, you will lose arm strength after repeated throws. An isolated throw may be strong but repeated throws will be less strong as the nerve fatigues. Manning is following Marino's path. He is done, he just may not know it yet.

Marino had no neck problems. He tore his achilles tendon and never regained his leg strength. You are dead wrong on Marino, but you are right that Manning is done. Three neck surgeries in the past year spells retirement.

I had similar issues with the C2-C3 cervical disks in my neck compressing together, and I also had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder for a partially torn rotator cuff.....the right side of my neck and shoulder have felt like someone was ripping my arm off my shoulder. I also had bad headaches over this, but they have mostly gone away. Not a lot of fun, but you kind of learn to live with the pain. I hope P. Manning can play a few more years as you hate to see a great QB's career end early. I think Dan Marino wanted to keep playing and the Minnesota Vikings wanted him, but Dan's wife Claire basically told him it was time to call it a career and focus on raising all of their kids.

I believe Manning had more than a 1 level fusion ... but I'm not sure? but anytime you get a metal or titanium plate screwed into the spine, it means it's pretty much over at being 100% healthy ever again!!! Your natural movement skills that the spine allows a human being to do, become restricted and can on many occasions impinge the nerves in the fused area causing numbness and pain ... IMO Manning is done, and he can't accept the fact his career might have ended so abruptly ... It is truly up to Manning but I'm pretty sure a Medical Staff will NOT clear him to play, knowing the severe ramifications of playing a physical sport ...

If you dont mind me asking what happend that caused this?

Original damage was from a trampoline incident when I was 14. My neck was weakened and later in life a ride on the Ninja rollercoaster at Six Flags in Atlanta finished the deal. When I got off the ride, my left arm and hand had no feeling. Got a scan and both discs were ruptured.

You know it, I know it...let's just hope the Colts don't know it.
