Manning leaves Broncos after 6hrs, creating leverage against cards-phins

the dolphins and cards are NOT the teams manning is driving up, its the TEXANS!!

It's the texans if there willing to offload schaub which IMO doesn't make sense.. Who's to say with manning's health shaub isn't the better qb, and the way they were playing last season, they were probably already the best team in the AFC..

As far as the cards go, they make perfect sense apart from there salary cap situation... There already over the cap by 13million, it would take them re-signing calais campbell (franchise tag) and cutting levi brown just to get under.. Kolb could go but they would still have to pay him 8million next season. Then with the levi brown situation you've got absoloutely nobody to protect peyton, with no money left to bring in free agents, so any of Peyton's former teammates would appaer not to be options.

Miami are stillt the favourite IMO, but lets just see it play out.

this is where i think he is headed. if i am miami, i tell peytons agent, we want him here, we will give him what he wants, bring in reggie, clark, saturday, his mom and a moon pie. but, we want him to go to the texans and do his dance and get it all out of the way. tell him we are not going to be a leverage tool as we have been with others the last couple years.

come back ONLY if we are true place he wants to play. get the texans best deal and we will beat it. but no back and forth! take the deal the texans offer and stay or come back with their deal and we will beat it, and not with chump change.

i live in az. phoenix, as far as a city goes is one of the most DISMAL cities in the country. i was SHOCKED at how dingy and boring the down town area was expecially with phoenix being the tourist destination it is. scottsdale is popular with the young party crowd but its far, far from the south beach experiance peyton has been living in. arizona is a GREAT state. awsome weather, golf paradise, and LOTS of sports. but there is NOTHING here in the phoenix area that beats south beach.

texas has a team that truley IS a qb from the show and texas is closer to his home in miami. i think this is the team they have chosen and all the rest is condon making as much bank as he can FOR HIMSELF! [more peyton makes, the more he makes].

he is going to the texans and the flynatics will be happy when miamis true plan, bringing in flynn to man the helm.

untill they see what we end up paying for him.

have u ever thought that ireland may think tannehill is better prospect than flynn and is much much cheaper? Thats the direction I am heading.

He is not going to the Texans. They already said they are happy with Schaub and aren't going to pursue Manning.

WTF did they do for six ****ing hours?

i can't stand listening to elway talk for 3 minutes on espn... 6 hours of that **** would make me puke. I don't think he left with a I'll sleep on it and get back to you... more like a thanks for the chat. good luck next year.

I don't know why Manning would want to get involved with anything to do with those Tebow boot licking fools in Denver.

all I know is we better not wait for Manning past monday....once free agency starts we need to either have Manning already or move on to Flynn.

Ozzy rules!!

Im telling you if Manning leaves Arizona without signing a contract the deal is all ours unless Ross blows it. I think the only ways we can lose him if he dosent sign while meeting with someone else is if Houston decides to jump in late(because I believe he is most interested in playing there) or if Ross or Ireland do something stupid during a meeting with Manning.

In fact, I would just tell Ireland to stay home while I get this done if I were Ross. Ireland may pull his dick out and ask Peyton if part of the deal includes him getting to bang Eli's wife or something like that. Leave that moron at home Ross. Just tell Peyton to have a seat, push a signed check across the desk, and ask what can I do to get you in a phins uniform today.

But I thought it's not about money? If manning is sincere why doesn't he sign for 5 million so the team has more money to sign other Marquis players for a run to the sb? It may just come down to where his wife wants to live but he wants the money too

QUOTE=thesparanos13;1064226135]Free agent Peyton Manning departed Broncos headquarters after visiting with club officials for six hours Friday evening.

Broncos brass gave Manning a tour of the facility, and he was personally escorted by VP of Football Operations John Elway. Our take -- admittedly pure speculation -- is that the Manning camp is flirting with the Broncos in an attempt to create leverage against the Cardinals and Dolphins. Denver is absolutely interested in signing him, but the fit is not nearly as ideal on Manning's end.

Denver has no shot. This was simply Peyton getting a call from Elway and giving him the respect of having a sit down.
Nothing to see here...move along.

haha! Thats as funny as it gets...

NRA thanks FINFAN 54 for this post.

I AGREE 100%. i am hoping for tannehill WAY, WAY over flynn.

i really like tannehill and would have no problem going into the season with a matt moore/tannehill qb tandem. i think tannehill is much farther along than most think and is smart and coachable and will be at nfl starter speed soon. and if he is good enough to unseat moore, good for us!

with a full camp, almost a full season with the starters, better coaching and an improved o-line, the moore bashers are going to forget real quick why they did all the bashing.

as far as my texans post, i am going off what many of the media and nfl commentators are saying that manning is the piece that puts the texans in the show and they are ready to side step schaub to get it done.

this is why i think the leverage is set for them.

Everybody, Manning is just checking out his options before making his final decision. It's this simple. He's not going to sign with anyone until he explores each team he's interested in. He wants to make the best decision for his career as well as what is best for his family. Let him go through the process and hope he decides Miami is that best option. Be patient.

As far as I'm concerned the guy is doing his homework, he probably never ever thought this could happen (being a free agent). He certainly does not want this to turn out to be a Brett Favre situation where he bounces from team to team. He wants to get it right and be on his new team for 3-5 years having a shot at winning championships. He also knows if he signs before free agency it can influence bringing in some other FA's cheaper.

I hope he signs with us but ultimately he will figure out whats best for his legacy, which has nothing to do with our FO. No matter how much some fans will want to blame if he signs else where.

I can see it now....if Peyton signs elsewhere, we're going to be treated to your long winded rants of how Ross/Ireland blew it. It could have nothing to do with him WANTING to play elsewhere right? We blew a "sure thing." Fans like you would be more of a reason not to play for the Dolphins.
