They're not going to cut Manning. That's ~20 mil they have to eat for 3 years.

It looks like a very real possibility.

And I'm all in on bringing in Manning and handing him the keys to the offense. You go out in next years draft and get "your guy" and let him sit on the bench behind one of the best that has every played and let him absorb every single word and piece of advice that is given to him by Peyton.

I would also love bringing in Tom Clements and let him mentor, along with Manning, the young QB that is taken in the draft just as he did with Rodgers.

But that reduces the number significantly from Peyton's full contract.

If you have a chance of getting Manning you do everything in regards to building around him with weapons, oline and guys that take the ball away on D.

Screw the development of a QB from rd 1.

A healthy Peyton Manning means you have a chance for a Super Bowl.

Wrong.

Manning is not the QB for the future. But he is the ideal situation you want when drafting a QB.

I would love to get Manning. His team went from a Super Bowl contender to a team that might go 0-16 without him. You put him on our team with Bush, Marshall, Bess, Hartline, and Clay and I think we could really have a shot at a Super Bowl. Draft a RT in the first round to make sure Manning lasts through the season and a 3rd/4th rd QB to groom behind him.

It'd be amazing if we got Manning.

While you draft the "Qb of the future", I will take the best Qb of his generation, generate interest in the team, increase confidence within the team and attack everyone on the schedule.

Who gives a **** about the future when you a slew of players in their prime that you can match with a Peyton Manning.

I would rather have a legit RT or CB that can help win now IF I can get Manning.

Damn right. I could see Ross making this happen without a doubt.

If Peyton Manning has anything left, the Colts are not going to give him up. If he doesn't have anything left, then I don't want him. I would prefer to get a young quarterback that is going to be around for a while as opposed to a quarterback that only has about two years left. He was on the decline before this injury.

Two years is a long time in the NFL...

one of the problems we have on this team is constanly running after everyones cast-offs. Coaches, GM's, QB's, RB's etc etc... I hear if every year..."Oh so and so is available!! we need to get him and it'll put us over the top!"

Yes I know Manning is a legend, but he is injured and isnt getting any younger.

Manning will be playing on another team because he doesn't want to train a replacement. that wont be any different here. So I dont believe that we can draft a young guy to learn playing behind Manning. I think it will put us behind actually rebuilding a few years.

Heck look at Indy now. How do we know Manning wont leave us the same way. No offense to Dan but look how our QB situation was when he retired.

Try to win NOW...Why not? You want the Jets to get him...

Am I the only one who doesn't want another team's QB to be the quick fix? I mean seriously things like this are the reason we're in this mess. Let's draft a young franchise QB instead of a 35 year old QB with neck problems.

Tell me you do not feel confident with a Manning-led offense going into the Foxboro...
