Looks like a mystery team has stepped in...NFL Network reporting.

Meanwhile the Miami Dolphins Stephen Ross and Jeff Ireland play tiddlewinks in the lunchroom in Davie.

Now that would actually make sense in terms of a team that could win it all immediately.

wow manning still hasnt signed somewhere???..what will be crazy is if hes not even half the manning they knew in indy.

This is a Miami Dolphins Forum, not niners, or Manning. Manning is irrelevent now

If he signs with the Niners, they will win it all...and Tebow will tell Elway to shove his 2 faced remarks up his horse a$$

For a guy that claims he doesn't like all this attention, Manning sure is drawing this out and adding more drama with each passing day. If he's serious about all this and doesn't want it to drag out, why do new teams keep popping up?

First, it was only Arizona, Miami and Denver that he was interested in. Then, after visiting with 2 of the 3, suddenly Tennessee decides they want to join and Manning obliges them. Now, almost a week later, he's allowing the Niners to enter the fray? I thought he wanted this to be over soon. Why would you suddenly entertain an organization that apparently wasn't showing any interest beforehand?

The more and more this continues to drag on, the more glad I am that the Dolphins are out of it. I've always disliked Peyton Manning, but briefly suspended my dislike of him as the thought of my favorite team becoming relevant again seemed appealing. However, I''m glad this sissy QB (make no mistake, he is a sissy that voluntarily falls to ground as soon as a defender gets so much as a hand on him) will never represent the Aqua and Orange (he can't hold Marino's jock) and look forward to rooting against him for the rest of his career, as it should be.

The team that makes the most sense for him. Instant title contender. 49ers wouldn't have made it with Smith, no matter how hard they try to hide him. Good on them if they realize that and go after Manning aggressively. Better than watching Manning waste his twilight years on pretenders like Den or Ten.

Actually, the 49ers were the FIRST team. He secretly visited with them before his much published whirlwind tour of Denver and Arizona.

"ESPN.com reports both 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh and OC Greg Roman watched free agent Peyton Manning throw in Durham, N.C. on Tuesday."

...

"After nearly 10 days, we have our first "mystery team." Mort reports Manning worked out for Niners coach Jim Harbaugh this week, and took a physical. Mort believes the Niners have joined the Broncos and Titans as finalists for Manning's services. The news goes a long way toward explaining why San Francisco has been dragging its feet on what was presumed to be a done deal with in-house free agent Alex Smith. Mort's colleague Adam Schefter also confirmed Friday the Cardinals have been "advised that they are to proceed as if they will not get (Manning)."

Manning really took a few teams for a ride. San Fransisco is the perfect fit for an elite QB wanting to get back to the SB. In his wake, he has left the Jets, Broncos, Cardinals and Tennessee looking like fools with their current QBs. It was known we were already looking and wanting a change. But those teams have had or will have to save face with their fans and QBs.

I believe it's already cost the Jets quite a bit in an "apology" extension to Sanchez. And Arizona relunctantly picked up Kolb's $7M tab.

At least Sanchez has First Pump to help him through this rough time. He's that quite reassuring voice in the background, "I've been there kid". :)

They'll win a couple of super bowls with manning...very good offensive line with gore, moss, Crabtree, Davis... OMG!!! Not to mention a defense that returns all 11 starters that was best in the league... Oh and prolly the best special teams in the nfl
