Michigan WR picks up the pace… Michigan WR Mario Manningham bounced back from a disappointing performance at the scouting combine in Indianapolis by showing some speed at the Wolverines’ pro day on Friday. After posting a rather slow 4.6 40 time at the combine, Manningham stopped the clock in 4.38 in around 4.4 seconds on both his runs at the on-campus workout. Somewhat surprisingly, RB Mike Hart, who also had a disappointing 40 time at the combine, opted not to run the 40 at the Wolverines’ pro day. Meanwhile, Adrian Arrington, another Michigan receiver, posted a disappointing 40 time in the high 4.5 range after not running at the combine.
In addition to the Michigan players who were at the combine, several others who were not in Indianapolis put in full workouts on Friday. OG Adam Kraus, for example, ran in the 40 in the high 5.3 range at 6-5.5 and 292 pounds; Kraus also had posted a time of 4.79 seconds in the short shuttle and 7.65 in the cone drill - both of which would have put him in the middle of the OG pack at the combine and had a 26.5 inch vertical leap. The former Wolverine who did the most for his draft status, other than perhaps Manningham at the Michigan pro day was OLB Chris Graham who had a most impressive 37 reps pressing 225 pounds and then went out and ran a sub-4.6 40. Graham’s bench press total would have tied top 10 prospects Jake Long and Vernon Gholston for the overall best total at the combine, while he 40 time would have been among the 5 fastest OLB in Indianapolis.
