It really makes me wonder why an athlete with so much to gain, respect, financial security and fame....not to mention self respect.............would show up to camp out of shape. Will Saban cut Manny Wright if he doesn't flourish in camp? He may have to make an example out of him! What a shame that he reportedly came to camp out of shape and couldn't finish his workouts. I guess thats why he was in the supplemental draft......history is a good indicator as Saban says.......

history says manny doesn't live up to expections! I hope he proves me wrong, but I doubt it.

Manny is a freakin joke. A guy who doesn't want to accept the help the Dolphins have offered and then wants to go to another team is a farce. He will fall flat on his face anywhere else. Just what he deserves!!!

Both of you try and Deal with clinical depression as newspapers are writing about how you are a crying tub of goo... Think about the failures in your life, and then think about how you would feel if they were written into national websites and distributed around the world and then remarked on at messageboards filled with people to scared to even put their real name.

Am i disapointed? Yes!

But do i understand? Yes!

My name is Ben Soper and i feel bad for manny and Hope that he is able to bring together his life.

For some reason i thought your initials were hd

While I'm sad Manny isn't playing or practicing for us, I feel Saban has been super in working with the kid, and seriously doubt any other NFL coach or team would be as sympathetic or understanding. Sure seems no other NFL team is even remotely interested in the kid.

So while I don't discount or minimize what he is going through, I would say to Manny, get your counseling and get your butt back in TC, no other team will treat you this well and no other team wants you.

You know why i'm mad at him?

Because we WASTED a fifth round pick on him. If he wasn't serious about playing football, he should of never entered the draft. That is irresponable and selfish. Depression or not, we offered him help. I'm sure he's going to get better now. He's going to end up regretting this for the rest of his life. And will I feel bad? No!

Think how selfish he is being. He wasted a Dolphins draft pick (A team which had faith in him and took a chance on him), and he is throwing away a lifetime of financial security for his family.

I hope we don't just cut him. I would like to get at least a 5th round pick out of him.

We got Manny for a 5th, when people viewed him as a kid with great potential only suspected he was a blubbering tub of goo. Now that it's obvious to everyone, his value has to go down. I think we're looking at a conditional 6th or 7th tops. Afterall, there is zero chance of him making the final roster. Vickerson and Zgonina are battling it out for the final spot. I highly doubt we cut both and keep Manny... ughhhhhh.

On a personal note, I do feel bad for the guy, but from the perspective of this team, he's never done a thing so I don't have the same loyalty I would to a guy whos been out there week in and week out making a contribution. Manny's been given an opportunity and has basically been dead weight for a year and a half. Obviously Saban went out of his way for him and its unfortunate Manny had too many issues to make the most of his chance.

I do understand your perspective. My issue is that I'm a fan of the Miami Dolphins and Manny has been bad for the team. We spent a pick on him, and while he's flashed some natural ability, he basically just been a distraction to our football team. I don't think he's a bad person and it is sad to see someone with a great opportunity who is unable to take advantage of it. However, at the end of the day, I want the Dolphins to be as successful as possible with or w/o Manny. His affiliation with the team is the only reason I know who the hell he is. Lots of ppl suffer from depression, but we're not gonna sit here and talk about them. My main concern with Manny is football. Or the lackthereof as it relates to him.

i kinda like bsjetta.

sounds like you're pissed at your car.

I do not feel sorry for him, simply because he wants to run away from his problems here by being traded. He was given an amazing opportunity that many people wish they could have in a second. Depression follows you everywhere, and it will only get worse the more he runs away from it.

THE FACT IS HE CLAIMS DEPRESSION, YET WHEN OFFERED TREATMENT...DECLINES AND WANTS OUT. HE IS NOT A STRONG WILLED PERSON AND SAY GOODBYE.......WE DON'T NEED TO BE A HALF WAY HOUSE FOR OVERGROWN BABIES..............BUT THATS MY OPINION. I SUFFER FROM DEPRESSION, BUT DON'T IGNORE IT AND RUN FROM RESPONSIBILITY.....AND USE IT AS A CRUTCH.

Those so called failures in his life are self inflicted. Unlike most, he was blessed with physical and athletic gifts that most people only dream about. Did he try and develop those gifts? Absolutely not. He took them for granted and he wasted them.
Many people fail because they just aren't good enough, not for lack of effort. Those people I have some sympathy for. The fact is, Manny Wright has exceptional talent for his position. I believe, that if he worked out religiously and strived to improve his technique he could be a top 5 D-lineman in a few years. However, he lacks the competitiveness and the pride to do so. THAT IS HIS FAULT, AND HIS FAULT ONLY.
