Memo to Manny, they tried to a couple years ago. You don't want them and they don't want you. Problem is nobody else wants you because of your pissy and lazy *** attitude.

Manny is stuck in Boston because they can't unload you if they wanted.

Teams don't want Manny because he makes 20million. Teams could care less about you pissy lazy attitude when you are a great player. See Pedro Martinez.

Or the one-year wonder himself, Adrian Beltre.

Good call I was trying to think of some others. People keep giving Carl Everett jobs and he isn't half the hitter Manny is. If he is making 8 million just about everytime would want him.

What's Manny got left, 3 years at $20 million per, right? If it was two years, I could see a team taking a chance. But 3? That's a LOT of contract to swallow. Of course, the Sox won't even try to make a deal, so it's a moot point.

Yes 3 years, but no team is gonna take 20million dollar guy unless its like the Yanks and maybe someother team like the Dodgers or Angels but those team have some big contracts themselves. Can't see Manny getting moved unless he really starts bitching which he won't.

Very few teams can afford to pay one player $20mil per year. Of those teams, I do not think he will get any more "off field privacy". They are all big markets where the media is over-bearing. Where would he go? New York (yanks or Mets)? - Yeah right. LA Dodgers? -MAYBE just don't see it. I can not think of many other big markets. Especially ones that would want him.

I think the Mets might have been interested if Cliff Floyd wasn't having a tremendous year in LF. Ramirez is far too much of a defensive liability to put in RF. Maybe Floyd could be moved to 1B in that scenario. A swap of Ramirez and some cash for Tom Glavine wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for either side, if the Sox are looking for a taker for Manny. The Mets likely want no part of Glavine's $10M option for next year, which is sure to vest. If the Sox threw in another $8 or $10 million, they might have some common ground.

Floyd is just not that good at first. The Marlins tried that a few years back and was not too successful. They would have to trade cameron to be able to fit Ramirez. Otherwise, that is a viable option.

Agreed that Floyd isn't good at first (I thought I remembered the Marlins giving him a shot there, so thank you for reaffirming that I'm not crazy), but he is surely better at first than either he or Ramirez would be in RF.

That's a myth.

He isn't going to win any gold gloves out there, but he is extremely underrated defensively. He has some lapses (many of which the entire nation sees, and they automatically make that assumption. Also, outside of gold glovers, who doesn't have lapses in the field?) He's an average fielder, at worst.

The whole thing about being a liability, it's simply not true.

And your surprised??

He's asked out every year since he signed in Boston. Last year he wanted out as well, only to go on and win the WS MVP. This is definitely not a big deal.

Its funny that even the Red Sox players, manager and FO don't know if Manny is being serious or just joking around. Who cares what Manny says, as long as he performs. The NEW story going around is is that a reporter called up Manny's house/hotel room and asked to speak to his wife and asked her if she was having a baby. This pissed off Manny because Manny is a VERY private guy (and by the way he is right being pissed who calls a players wife?). So Manny was just venting basically trying to get the writers to leave the guy alone. I actually have close friends within the Red Sox organization who have always told me that Manny is a very misunderstood player and that everyone in the clubhouse loves him, he just gets a bad rap because he doesn't talk to reporters because he's uncomfortable. The fact is Manny is ALWAYS the first player at the field taking extra BP and getting fly balls in the OF.

This is because ESPN likes to reply Manny's mistakes over and over. The problem is when he makes a mistake, it's usually a goofy one. As you said, he's underrated.

As for the whole trade thing... Pay no attention. The story is almost dead already.
