If we don't draft or sign a Free Agent DT, Anyone else feel like he might be our starting DT at some point during the season???

I think he'll see more increased playing time, but probably won't start much.

Who do u guys think will play more, Manny or Roth????

I think both will get alot of snaps in a rotation.

Manny is gonna get a lot of playing time, on a rotation basis but not start unless Traylor goes down. But then again he is figured as the quick tackle in the 4-3 and Traylor is the gap stopper, so maybe so, but we'll play a lot more 3-4 this year. Either way he will get a lot of reps this year.

If he starts the season, it'll mean he really tore it up in the off. I'd love that...

Conditioning was his biggest issue last year, and he finally got his body into shape late into the season. I really do believe that if he comes back in better shape he will be in the starting lineup come opening day. From the little I've seen, I can't help but think how truly special this guy could actually be, and the best part is that he only cost us a fifth.

It's too early to tell right now....The issue with Wright, Roth and Vickerson was conditioning, moreso than raw talent. Wright was soft and out of shape much of the year and Vickerson, as his pre-draft bios read, needed to build his lower body strength to make an impact at this level...Roth needed to find his calling (DE/OLB/?). If they are doing their offseason homework, then they'll probably impact the season even more than they did last year, up to and including replacing veteran starters...Wright probably has the best chance to break the lineup somewhere this year, but with Capers and Saban's D, will get a lot of reps (provided he continues to improve). As Saban said once before...you have to get to the point where the drop off in talent from your starters to your role players to your bench-riders is negligible. Thats what he's going about doing with these young guys...

I think Sabes is putting together a beast of a defensive line across the board. ANyone remember the Dallas line that our friend (joke) Jimmy had and also how our D was when we rotated our guys in and punished offenses. I think that's how we're gonna look this year. I don't think he'll start but he will be in that monster rotation. Poor Pennington...........

I do not think Wright will be the opening day starter. I hope I am wrong.

If he does start, either opening day or down the road, for me the question is at which DT spot? Will he back-up Traylor at the NT spot or Holliday at the DT spot which converts to a 3-4 DE when we move Jason Taylor to WOLB and move Crowder inside.
