I read the article on how he is receiving reps with the first team. To tell you the truth, I am excited. He showed a rare glimpse of dominance in preseason, I believe it was what, 2 plays ;) .

Anyways, I wanna see this guy play, and it seems Saban and Wrights mentors are on the right track.

Does anyone else share my optimism that he will contribute greatly to our D Line this year?

Also, if he does, will we rotate the D Line like we do the O Line????

Feedback please.

P.S. Anyone wanna tailgate on Sunday @ R. Wilson, let me know.

we already rotate the D-line quite a bit between Zgonina, D.Bowens, Matt Roth and the starters....I'd imagine that we could easily work Manny in for a play or two here and there.

I don't know if he'll contribute greatly but, his rep in college was that he was completely unblockable if he really wanted to be. The trouble, was getting him to really want it for the entire time he was on the field.

If we get a couple of those "unblockable" plays out of him every game, he could make a nice impact. Shouldn't take but 6-8 plays per game to get that out of him, and that's not putting to much on his plate, IMO.

Think we'll see him in Buffalo as per the article?

I wouldn't be surprised. I'd almost expect at least one big play from him too.

I'm really worried about traylor getting worn down, so i'm all for Wright going in and spelling him.

The way that we are using him, he won't get worn down that much. Yes, he is an old guy, but he isn't playing every down for us. With Manny Wright going to be in the mix, that should help out Traylor alittle more.

Good point on Wright and on our rotation...I personally think, that since the Denver game the DL has regressed a little, at least as far as overall pressure on the QB (the run D has been stellar)...that could be some of the issue with the secondary getting lambasted...If we can get a little more pressure on the passer, we can patch up the secondary issues more quickly...

I agree with giving Traylor some rest. As dominant he is right now, we want him to be as dominant later in the year too. :)

he is explosive and I bet we see him get a sack plus make a couple run stops in the back field this weekend

we are fine at DT next year with Wright and Vickerson (who both have been impressing) along with Zgonina

If we get any positive plays out of him this year is will be great. I honestly expected this year to be more development for him and then next year to make an impact. This is good news indeed.

I think the coolest thing for Manny would be to come out in limited time and just dominate and have like two sacks or something. I mean, the chances of it happening are slim but it would still be something cool to talk about.

I think it's important to get him playing time so that he learns and so that the team can make a good evaluation on the position. This is a critical area with Traylor being 35 so if Wright shows he can do it maybe the team won't have to spend a high pick on DT.
