No, not Saban... his real Daddy, the ex-proffessional athlete and 8 sport coach,Terrance Wright says....
"Once he drops a tear, I feel sorry for anybody that gets in front of him," Wright said. "If they can't block him now, he's going to be an unstoppable force now.

"He wants to be great. Not just an All-Pro or a Pro Bowler, he wants to go to the Hall of Fame. This is just one step in him doing that. You'll see."

Tear inducing tirade meets Dad's approval.

After that...read this one...
And when Fernandez heard that a newcomer to Miami's training camp, a kid named Manny Wright, walked off the practice field in tears the other day after being chewed out by coach Nick Saban, well, let's just say it wasn't an Oprah moment.

"I thought it was kind of humorous," Fernandez said Wednesday when called for a reaction. "Did you ever see Shula on the sidelines? He'd seek you out like a heat-seeking missile if you screwed up on the field.

"Being yelled at by a coach, it was an every-day thing, not an occasional thing. If you screwed up, you got yelled at right then, in front of God and everybody. I don't know how else you could coach. Do you say, 'That's OK,' or 'Hey, you'll do better,' or do you wait until it's in private? That's just coaching, getting in a guy's face. Everybody's in pads, right?"
....Not everybody :chuckle:.....Act like a Manny

I don't understand all the comotion over this incident. So what, the guy cried a little bit. That doesn't make him soft. Some of the toughest men are also some of the more emotional.

give the kid a break for crying out loud
I hope you don't think I'm picking on the kid....better yet, I hope he doesn't think I'm picking on him...

I just thought it was cool to learn a little bit more about where he comes from and of course, anytime one of the 72'ers has something to say, it needs to be read by all....

That's it, no malice... :)

Same here. It's a non-event that was waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy over blown the first time mention was ever made of it. A coach yells at a kid and he cries, IMAGINE THAT!!!
:shakeno:

I will probably get ripped for this, but what the hell........

An NFL lockerroom is an unforgiving place. And don't give me Ricky Williams is back.. that is totally different (that is a business move not a football move). I'm going to be blunt here for a minute I hope not to offend anyone with some words but. If your teammates think you are gay, soft or a ppuusssssy, or will go off and cry when something goes against you.......you will pretty much be mocked, laughed at, and probably run out of such lockerroom. In some cases maybe even blackballed out of a lockeroom or the league. Now, with Wright I don't see this happening as he is very very young and just got to Miami about 2 weeks ago. NFL Players when at work have a very warpped "code of conduct" they live by. If you are ever so slightly different in anyway, you won't survive in that atmosphere. Crying because you won or lost a game is one thing. Crying because a coach yelled at you, that is so totally different. Hopefully his teammates go easy on him. Put some diapers in his locker everyday for a week, maybe make him wear a bib at lunch or dinner, have him get dressed up like a baby and suck his thumb while they take pictures. Then move on from this and they take this kid under his wing and accept him from this point on. But, if this kid never lived this down and is harrassed from now till kingdom come......I wouldn't be shocked the least.

If the guy hopes to be a pro football player he's gotta know that if he cries.... phft.. ahem... excuse me, I was saying he's gotta realize that if he... phhfft... if he's gonna...:D phppft.... if he's gonna cry... phfftbrapahoowayahahahahahaha.:rofl3: !
If he's gonna cry in front of cameras he's gonna hear about it. I'm sure this guy doesn't need you guys here trying to defend or justify his... phfft.... his.... phfftftftf.... his crying... phftftftfhhhhbrraapphahahahwayhahah:rofl3:.

I'm sure he was pretty intimidated coming into camp, wanting to preform well and all. I'm sure he had a way different vision of his first day at camp. You know , bonding with the rooks, earning the respect of the vets, impressing coaches and then BAM! Saban jumps all over him!

Allotta guys woulda phfft:D .... guys woulda phsst:lol: .... ok Dick Vermil woulda cried.

Anywayz, I'm sure the Miami organization has some shrinks and therapists that can work with the guy but I'm bettin it'll take a few years to straighten this kid out. What ever happens I wouldnt want this kid trying to make a goal line stand late in December with a playoff berth on the line. Cause you just know the home town fans will be chanting MAAAAAAANNNNYYYYYYYYYYY.... MAAAAAANNNNNNYYYYYYYYY!

All kiddin aside, I'ld hate to see this kids career go to pot because he phsst... well, you know what he did. Never know, the vets may even warm up to him a lil quicker.
