The Miami Dolphins are continuing their search for a new head coach this week, with one of the bigger named assistant coaches currently the top target for the team. The New Orleans Saints lost to the San Francisco 49ers in Divisional playoffs this weekend, clearing the way for New Orleans offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael to interview for the Dolphins' vacant head coach position.
Carmichael has twice spurned advances from the Dolphins, but both of those were for an offensive coordinator position. Now, with the head coach job available, Carmichael will most likely take the phone call.

This guy, the OC for New Orleans, would be my choice for next head coach of the Dolphins. Yes, he looks like a pedophile and no way in hell I would I ever go into an unmarked van with him, but he has a fantastic offensive mind and has been groomed under Payton in New Orleans. Thoughts?

of everyone reportedly on the docket for the miami h/c gig, he is far and away the most intriguing prospect.

i firmly believe if ireland doesnt hire todd bowles or a coach who wants the 4-3 defense, mike nolan will be back and a happy camper.

so if nolan is staying than having a offensive minded coach is my preference. he is a fresh faced kid looking coach, but young and productive and AGRESSIVE! isnt that what we have all been squacking for?

i love the aggresivness and inovation within the saints offense and would love to see that come here.

i would want pete carmichael way over zimmer or mcoy. and i dont even want to mention bowles.

ross has going on about how he prefers YOUNG, hungry coaches since fisher turned us down and pete is both.

we can only hope.

If you want to hire him, want it for the right reasons....i.e....leadership abillity, motivational ability, abilty to adapt, and ability to get the most out of what he is given. Don't want him just because he is associated with an explosive offense and an elite quarterback. The latter has little to nothing to do with being a head coach.

The Phinsider.... really?

Cmon man.

Just posted the Phinsider because the guy had written the most about it. Charlie Casserly strongly believes the Dolphins will take a serious look at Carmichael.

What I look at is his mind set.....

Is he an aggresive style coach...who will want an explosive offense and defense? Will he be ferocious? Tenacious? Display the killer instinct we havent had in a long, long time?
