Marcus Howard/OLB....Hidden Gem,Maybe?

Being that I am a UGA fan to death you know I will agree with you. But this guy is a baller. You saw him in the sugar bowl. In fact, he played hard all year long. Boy is built like a beast too.

exactly...oh and uhh...thanks for the,well,thanks..lol:up:

anywho,he is so intrigueing to me,reminds me a lot of Jonathan Vilma, imagine what a steal hed be if he didnt get drafted...:woot:....but im not looknig forward to that...lol,anyways,yeah,I think Marcus is a very energetic,VERY fast OLB,the guy can bring a lot of help for us in a rotation, assuming the JT trade goes down,i wouldnt be made if we looked at him in the 4th round...cause Im almost certain hell be gone by the 6th...i think with a little coaching and hanging with JP and Channing Crowder,he can be a force for us

Might be too light for Parcells. I'm really having a hard time judging just how big he wants the linebackers to be.

The combine page says 6-2, 245. And I'm just not sure where that is on the Parcells scale.

I personally like lighter, faster guys, like the old Jimmy Johnson defense back in the late 90's/early 00's. But Parcells doesn't even consider guys who don't meet his size requirements.

your right...but i think this speedy OLB can be converted to SS,where I think he'd be like a Kerry Rhodes kinda safety. You know,Rhodes was a 4th rounder too,who actually turned out to be the best safety in the draft,IMO.....so I wouldnt be mad at all if we look at him in the 4th as well, and see if he can play the safety,i think he could be a hard-hitting,pass rushing,run-supporting safety,Id LOVE to see that....just a thought....

no chance for him to be a safety. hes actually more of a 3-4 OLB dispite him being light in the butt. if we get him in the 4th or later and he adds some bulk and strength, he could be a very good OLB in the 3-4 IMO.

6'2 245 is pretty much prototypical linebacker size, maybe about ten pounds too light, but right there..........

Howard actually measured at 6'1" 237. That is on the cusp of what Parcells and Ireland look for in an OLB.

A couple of LBs they drafted in Dallas who are similar in size to Marcus Howard.
Brandie James 6'2" 243
Kevin Burnett 6'3" 237

I posted this in another thread but I'll post it again for those who didn't see it or only saw him play in the Sugar Bowl against Hawaii.

After watching this clip, I understand why the Dolphins requested more tape of him.

I like your way of thinking.

And to the other responder.....any player from the "UGA" can be converted to anything.

Guess who he got around for that sack against Vandy? Yep you got it. The big LT Chris Williams.....Point is that Dawg from Ga is a baller!
