The guy is as athletic as they get, why not try him out at cb to see what he can do? It wouldnt hurt, our weakest position is the cb position especially with will poole being cut plus it gives him a better chance to make the team...what you think??

not a bad thought, but i have no clue about the difficulties it would be transitioning from offense to defense ( QB to CB ) I see vick as a gadget play guy once a game or as a distraction to make people think were going to him to open up chambers or booker.

his main role will be on special teams i believe.

I don't know if giving Marcus a ton of unfamiliar positions to learn gives him a better chance to make the team. Saban seems to prefer physical corners that can blitz and hit, and I have no idea how Vick tackles.
Personally, I don't consider CB to be our weakest position (in terms of depth), not with guys like R. Hill and J. Allen being more than capable of stepping in and playing corner. If our safeties are indeed capable of playing any DB position, we simply don't need to carry a ton of corner specialists.
I think our biggest depth problems are at linebacker, and I don't think it can be completely solved this year. But that's another thread I guess.

Didn't Scott Frost, QB from Nebraska, make the jump from college QB to NFL DB, I think with the Rams and Jets I believe.

Maybe. It would be fun to see him try.

If he makes the switch, or adds the position to his "slash" designation it will be because as a QB he instinctively reads other QBs. The footwork though, he'd have to be a natural. Jack Mildren, expert wishbone quarterback for the Sooners made the switch to safety. Played for the Colts for a few years.

Why not? Nice size and speed and has said he will play any position to help our Phins and don't care to take all that time to memorize all those positions. Go Marcus. Also I beleive their is always a place for someone with god given talent like Vick on all professional teams so long as he stays out of trouble which I have faith he will do.

Do you really think he would be a better CB than someone who has played that position for years? I like Marcus, but it's not like you can just put him anywhere on the field and he'll be an all-pro. He's got good speed and agility, but pales in comparison to his brother in that area. Let's see if he can play Wr b4 we try to hand him another job please.

I disagree I think. Some people are just football players. Woodson was a WR and CB at Mich is one example of many. It can be done. Some people just get football and can play numerous positions which Marcus is already showing by getting props at 2 positions at the old age of 22 and also working on ST's. Their is always a place for god given talent and nothing is impossible.

i hope he plays corner ... at least a little bc then he wood no everything about qbs and wat they do ..... dat wood b kinda interesting ....

i think it wood be to hard 2 transition, remember eric crouch tryed it nd fail 2

i think marcus is better off doing the randel el role for our team.he can throw the ball we know that for sure

Wide receiver Marcus Vick turned in his daily highlight when he snagged a 25-yard catch over the back of LeJeune. I’m continuously shocked Vick didn’t have any training at wide receiver during college. Not only do his routes generally look crisp, he is proving to have hands like a legitimate NFL wide receiver.

Hey how about we stick to were he is playing well right now @ WR :D
