were not in the position to pay olindo mare his bonus so would there be a posibility of trading him an maybe getting some draft picks for him 2nd or 3rd hes deffintly worth something but wut is his value can i get some help plz thanks:dolphins:
 
I would hate to see him go. I couldn't think of someone I would rather have kicking. He practically perfected the onside kick too.
kickoffs are great
hes one of the best IMO and your kicker wins games for you often (or loses)
 
I wouldn't trade him unless we had a better replacement. I hope we draft Mason Crosby from the Univ. of Colorado as our kicker next year....he can boom it.
 
No way we trade him. Who are we going to replace him with, Wes Welker? Plus I doubt a team would even give up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.
 
dont forget... he does kickoffs and field goals...alot of kickers nowadays only do one or the other so if you dump him for cap space you most likely have to take up two roster spots to replace him n i cant think of anyone out there thats available thats any better
 
We are on the verge of something very big for us this year, why rid a guy who will help us get what we want a Super Bowl Win!!!
 
i agree.getting rid of mare would be a big mistake,especially if there is a game on the line at the end of the season,odds are we will be playing a few cold or snow games this year(not in the playoffs those will all be home games)and i dont want some journeyman kicker choking in the moment.

mare has had his share of choking moments thru his career..just ask Wayne.H

Yeah but he is playing very well now, and this year we won't have to rely on him every game, we will have enough points on the board where he won't have to worry about it. Then when we do need him he'll be cool calm and collected.

I can't really remember any choking moments from Mare. I do remember that 53 yarder he nailed at Denver to win the game. And last year against Carolina to win. This guy is solid, and If Im not mistaken isnt he in the top 2 or 3 of all-time fg pct?
