That's awesome. That's the kind of stuff nobody hears about but really shows alot about a person's character and heart. Thanks for sharing that with us. I don't need a stupid overrated ring to tell me he's a champion.DrMultimedia said:Dan was great, on and off the field. I was taken to the hospital the morning of the 1991 KC/Miami playoff game after having a big seizure. As I was getting pulled out the CAT scan I was starting to regain consciousness. They told me I had a brain tumor, and would have to stay in the hospital for at least the day. The first thing I did was ask if I would have a TV set so I could watch the game.
After my surgery I was in a coma for a few weeks. My girlfriend sent a message to Dan telling him my situation, and he wrote a great letter. My tumor got removed after a few surgeries and I've been doing great ever since. I still have the issue of the SI that had him on the cover after that game sitting on my wall in a frame, along with the letter.
Dan provided hope in every game, and gives so much hope to many people off the field. A true champion.
