Ok someone brought up an interesting issue in a previous thread. So I would like to get everyones opinion

Ok someoe(for privacy reasons won't say the name =O) believes that Jason Taylor is just as important to the Phins as Dan Marino was. I am curious to see what everyone has to say.

So who was more important

Taylor
Marino
Both equally important

are you serious? marino is the best qb ever.. JT is maybe top 10-15 DE ever.. dont get me wrong but QB is the most important position on the field (with a good line of course). im just confused about this whole thing.. how can this question even come up? if anyone even votes against marino they are crazy

I like Jason Taylor no doubt, if I have to put faces on this franchise (players only) I come up with before thinking of Taylor
Marino
Thomas
Csonka
Clayton / Duper
Madison / Surtain

Dan Marino hands down. The man is a legend in South Florida. Jason Taylor may have given Dolphins fans a lot of great defensive memories in his 11 seasons, but he will never have the same type of legendary status that Marino has. Marino made such a huge impact on the game, and broke an insane amount of records. For as good as Jason is, he never had the kind of impact on the NFL like Marino did.

Give me a f-in break. JT isn't even in the top 5 best dolphins.

The only ones who put JT in such legendary status are 14 year olds who have only watched the dolphins for 2 or 3 years.

You forgot to list option #4: "Equally unimportant."

You know...since neither one ever actually brought a championship to Miami and all.

Glad I could help clarify things.

You're welcome.

Oh Marino hands down. He is a QB and has his hands on the ball every offense snap. Plus he is arguebly the best to ever play. JT is great but there is no question here.

Its not even close... A hall of fame QB who rewrote record books, or a dancing singing sprite.. JK.. Well not really but you know.. :)

It's not close and that's not a knock on Taylor. QB's that set every NFL passing record don't come along too often.

Marino, no questions. For all Miami sports. After the Heat won I thought maybe Wade had a chance to eclipse Danny, but you hardly ever hear about Wade in the community like you still hear about Danny. On top of that football will always be king in Miami.

True, but without Marino there wouldn't have been many playoff games. Take away Marino some of those yrs and the Fins would have been fortunate to win 6-7 games.
Can't say the same for JT. Marino showed up in those games, whereas JT had a habit of disappearing in playoff games.

 Tis true, Legends get forgotten, sorry Unitas, Bradshaw, Theisman. Very few will remember the Titans of the NFL past time. So long Csonka and Dickerson, goodbye.
