Can you believe that his record breaking season did not make the top 10 single season performances ever? :confused: A kicker, a wr catching 143 passes(impressive @ 9 rec /gm)but better than 6 records in 1 year! No need to put the stats as we all know them. Manning was #1 w/49tds and best rating ever. 2 Record not 6! Keep in mind the state of the passing game now compared to then. You could grab an arm and rum w/ the wr then, hit the qb after the throw, and now you can't breath on a wr or so much as touch the qb after the throw.

What does everbody really have against him? Ohhhhhh, that is right, a ring!!! So Roethlisberger,Dilfer,Warner,Brad Johnson,Doug Williams, and on and on,.......are all better?????

DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I was watching myslef, and was also disgusted!!!!

I honestly feel for Dan the Man!! No respect.
 
That is truly sad. Must some some more haters in the house when they pick those things.

and according to whom?
Were the 72 dolphins included?

I couldn't believe LT's record breaking season last year didn't make the list either. But a kicker and a kick returner did... go figure.
 
These lists are all subjective for the most part... just because a "real" journalist throws together a list does not make it 'golden'.

Records were made to be broken and just because some of Dan's were does not take away any of his specialness of his career playing for the Phins.

Nothing can take away the memories we all have of what Dan accomplished. I know it's nice for fans to see the team and it's players recognized for their play but as far as Dan's goes you can't achieve a whole lot more than he did as a player (HOF, boo ku amount of individual records). The one "belmish", if you will, on his career is the lack of a SB win.
 
man i understand where you guys are coming from. you all remember richmond webb he was our best ot and he came from the big 12 and the local media never gives him any respect either. at least they give zach thomas a little love. I wonder what it would have been like if jimmry johnson would have drafted a real runningback and a real wide receiver. its a shame that the dolphins couldnt trade two 2 1st round and a 4th rounder for barry sanders now that would have helped marino to get a super bowl ring.

I swear you guys are a bunch of cry babies. It doesn't matter what the media does or says. The only thing that matters is what you think. The Marino days are long gone so just let it rest. I'll bet if you ask the players that played with and against Marino they would have a more accurate opinion. :boohoo:
 
are you people serious with all this "everyone hates us" garbage? his record was broken. the last time i checked, 49>48. dan will always be the man, but the bottom line is that he is no longer the record holder.

Read the post you are referring to before commenting. It was said that in Manning's career season he only broke two records. In Marino's career season he broke 6 records when the rules were tougher. So when you say he is no longer the record holder and you mention the TD record you shouls say, "his TD recod was broken". As we all know Dan holds many career and single season records. Please see Dan's face in response to you comments
