"If they feel good about Tannehill and he's there at eight, it's worth taking a little bit of a stretch to take a quarterback," Marino said. "If it's a guy that you think can be your future quarterback for a long time, then you got to take him. If not, you have to preach to the fans that you have to be patient."
The Dolphins legend, who briefly worked in the front office well before Stephen Ross came around, defended the owner's tenure with the team. He said Ross badly wants to win. No matter how ugly the last few years have been, don't tell Marino the Dolphins are second-class citizens in the city.
"They are still the franchise everybody is looking at," Marino said. "It's the Miami Dolphins, man. It's a great brand, a great franchise. It's been very successful for many years in the league. No matter what is, though, fans want to win. That's what it's all about."

The headline on the news article is misleading. Marino didn't say Tannehill was worth it, he said if Miami thinks he worth it, then they should pick him. I was hoping to hear what Marino himself actually thought but he never actually gives his personal opinion on Tannehill himself.

I'd read in between the lines with Marino, you have to. He's basically saying take him at eight if you think there's even a small chance he could be the franchise guy.

This is an extremely tough position the Dolphins have put themselves in...but what are choices DO they have?

And that is exactly how I feel about the Tannehill situation and the Dolphins in general, if it's right it's right.

There is so much smoke blowing right now, teams are deliberately sending out rumors and false leaks.

Marino would never evaluate and give his honest opinion on a players. He play's it right down the middle.
He does it on purpose. He is never right, and never wrong. Never controversial.

Would I be surprised if Tanneyhill slides...no. Would I be surprised that RT is taken as high as #7..no.
We probably have 3 options at #8. Two different players or trade down.
We will have to see how the draft unfolds.
My opinion is that we take Keuchly or DeCastro. Both are top 10 picks. The best players available.

I agree. If you think he's your guy, pull the trigger. It's that simple.

"The Dolphins legend, who briefly worked in the front office well before Stephen Ross came around"

Did Marino actually do any work before resigning?
