marino - the importance of game one

We can't lose our heads completely, the Pats are a great team, and it's foolish of us to think we're in the same class as the are just yet. On the other hand, they did expose a lot of our weaknesses that we'll need to work on for next week.

thats all fine and good and accurate, but to say its just one game also is just simply inaccurate. our inability to win in new england in all likelihood (can anybody make a compelling case for a win?????? ok then) means this puts us 3 games behind the pats already. that means after ONE game. we are already fighting for our playoff wildcard life and it doesnt look good. baltimore and pittsburgh have cake schedules. the jets have been there and rex ryan is a better coach than sparano (just ask jason taylor). and the raiders are going to be a good team. were going to end up fighting for a 6th seed i believe.

chuck whats behind door number 1? ding ding ding new england in foxboro. great prize if we can even make it that far

just tough to deal with the fact this staff didnt take this game as seriously as they needed to. they treated it like just another game. it wasnt

Pats lost 31-0 to the Bills one year in the opener and went on to win the Superbowl. That being said I don't think this coaching staff has the ability to make the adjustments needed to make this team a SB contender but losing the first game in itself doesn't mean all is lost. If someone brought this up earlier in the thread forgive me, I didn't read through it all.

the difference here being A) the game probably wasnt in foxboro. and B) they lost to the bills. if we lost to the bills at home this year opening day it wouldnt have been the end of the world either. for the specific fact that the bills wont be the last team standing at the end in all liklihood. the patriots will be. so we just lost to the team we have to unseat as division champ. it puts us behind the 8 ball.
