Does anybody know of any bad blood between these two?

This morning on the Boomer (Esiason) and Carton Show in New York, Carton spoke of a deli in Weston that Marino goes to where he removes Fiedler's photo from the wall each time he enters.

Esiason sort of confirmed some animosity by recounting a Halloween that Marino donned big ears as a dig at Fiedler.

if you were dan marino, and your replacement was jay fiedler, wouldn't you be upset?

but i don't know of any bad blood. jay just had some big shoes to fill with tiny feet.

Don't know anything about this but if it is true that is effin' hilarious.

they weren't even on the team at the same time. Fiedler showed up from Jax the year after Marino retired

Dan is right. Who would want Feidler's photo instead of Marion's? I'd be willing to bet Dan does this as a joke. I can't see any reason why Marino would feel threatened by Jay.

Marino supported Damon Huard to become the Phins starter when he left.
He believed he was a better QB and believed.... along with many others, that Damon had beaten Fiedler for the job in TC.

Fiedler's mother, interviewed after Jay's first game made a crack at Marino because she was upset that Marino didn't pick her little boy for the job.
She said... and I quote.... "Tell Mr. Marino that there's finally a real QB in Miami now". (Insert annoying NY accent as you read).

In addition, since Marino is obviously a fan of his team after retiring, I'm sure he was just as troubled as the rest of us to see the QB position ignored and run by a man clearly in over his head as a starter in the NFL for all those years under Wanny.

So yeah, there was a little bad blood I'd say.
I'd never heard of him actually making any inflamatory comments towards him though or dressing up as Fiedler for Halloween. That's new to me... and funny as hell if true.

I don't know, but I have heard of people calling Marino a prick.

oh, he is. met him a few times. once at a bar where he spit on the bartender that refused to serve him b/c he was wasted and raunchily hitting on the women around him. to me, it was hilarious. but to some poor bartender that got spit on for doing her job, not so much. still funny though.

i have actually yet to meet a 'superstar' athlete that wasn't a prick minus ken griffey jr.. and i met him after he fell off the top of the world.

but tiger woods takes the cake. wow is all i have to say about that.

Marino IS a prick, no doubt about it.

refused to autograph my #13 marino jersey i just happened to be wearing during the offseason when I was like 10 years old, wearing the dudes jersey and we're both in line to buy shiners for fishing. all he said was "no" i was kind of nervous being a young kid and seeing my hero...couldn't even say anything nice, just a No and walked away... ****in prick...

still the greatest qb of all time though.

What's funny is that the interview only aired on one newscast and then mysteriously dissapeared from the airwaves when the late news casts came on. I would bet there was some serious venom coming in over the phones to stations over that one.

He was a real QB. winning record and all... I'd love to have fiedler in his prime(00-02) over anything else we've had since..

You can have him all to yourself.
so are you implying you'd rather have cleo lemon, gus ferrotte, ray lucas, brian greise, damon huard or any of those garbage qb's that couldn't win games with practically the same conditions of Jay? Good defenses & no weapons on offense. :sidelol: It's not fiedler's fault that pornstache threw him to the wolves to throw lame duck int's on 3rd and long because we were the most predictable team in the game. remember that sunday night game vs denver? Jay was one tough sob
