Marino's Thoughts on Beck

it would be great if we could be allowed to consider drafting another QB without being characterized as "rushing to judge Beck"

I think it took Drew Brees 3 years to become the QB he is, so there is nothing wrong with giving Beck much more time and game experiance. but do you want to go 3 years without any alternative only to find out that you need to start over again and draft a QB in the '10 draft?

#1 could be too high for Ryan, but we could find a gem in a later round. lets hope we do without people screaming about prejudging Beck

I agree that it's way too early to judge Beck.

We could draft a QB for insurance without "rushing to judge Beck" but it would have to be in the 3rd round or later.
In the salary cap era your 1st and 2nd round picks need to be guys who can play right away, especially on a team with this many needs.

Brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department. :p

Dude look at that video of Dan. Fits it into double coverage perfectly. He could dress now and would be are best QB.

Canes won 63-58 (Something close to that), Dan only played a couple series. And Bernie Kosar "played a vital role for both teams" the herald said.

I think we are going to see a balanced approach of drafting bpa to what are needs are and if there is a decent looking qb in the draft when we are picking and he looks like the bpa we will take him. That is by no means any indication that Parcells coaching staff does not like beck. Beck will be evaluted in the off season and in TC/preseason. It is too early for anyone to make a concrete decission about beck one way or another. Our coaches need time to work with him and evaluate him.
