so, i am going through some old Fins stuff and there, laying at the bottom of a box, is an old Football Digest. And the cover says...

"Dan Marino and the Dolphins, the AFC's Best Hope." With a pic of the Man himself......

The year.....1993.....everyone knows what happened to him that year....Achilles.

It was 12 years ago, but does anyone remember, vividly, if the Fins wouldve made a seriously push that year with Danny at the Helm. Didnt Dallas win it against the Jills? I do remember how good the man was in the early 90's (IMO better then he was in the 80's).

What do you think? Guy must of been cursed.

That achilles injury was the beginning of an end to an era...

the best though, was his 1st game back after that in 1994. the announcers were like "he will never be the same again" and then Dan proceeded to throw for over 500 yrds and 5 tds including the game winning bomb on 4th and 2 to Fryer. All in the mud.

Buffalo was too good for the AFC in big games, sure you could beat them in the reg season but beating them in the postseason was a different beast. I don't think you would have beaten them.

Ahhhh, the memories! One of the greatest games in Dolphins history, if you ask me. He just seemed to prove everyone wrong in that game.

They were in the AFC Championship gm the year before and then added to the roster in '93 so, yeah. We had the weapons but...

I honetly felt that 1993 was Marino's best team and best chance to go to the SB and win. Somethings are just meant not to happen.

Agreed. I couldn't believe it that Danny ruptured his achilles when he stepped up in the pocket. I think I cried. For some reason, I thought that Scott Mitchell was still going to come in and lead the way. I think Steve Young had me thinking that a lefty from the bench could come in for a revered quarterback and start his own legacy. What was I thinking?

i think his best team was 1984 but after that his best tam and best chance for a SB was 1994. I think you would have beaten Pitt, still lost to SF in the SB but given a better game than SD did.
