Mario Williams got 6 yrs 100 million with 50 million guaranteed

hes getting more money than ware, peppers, cole, pierre paul,etc...

mario williams is one of those guys who gets sacks to me, but he doesn't disrupt games or impact it like a ware, peppers, etc.

bills way overpayed, and who did they have to give up?

So with the QB's new contract last year and Mario williams 16million per year contract....The last 2 contracts they did was for those 2 players was for approx. 28-32% of their entire team cap.

Good for them. A lot of money? yes. A gamble considering his injuries? Yes. A potential with him to do much greater things than previously? Affirmative.

On the other hand, we'll keep drafting and signing our "safe" linemen picks, add more "good" depth in the receiving core and rb (Slaton) at a great deal, most likely do the same with our qb position..and guess what? We are doomed for another uneventful, losing season. But hey, at least we didn't overpay for a player, that makes me feel so much better..

Two highest paid positions in NFL: Quarterbacks and Quarterback killers.

and QB protectors of course...but the truth about it is he avgs 8.8 sacks per season not worth the money at all, he got paid out of desperation

QB protectors are a little ways down on that list.

Top QBs make about $16 million a year, as to QB Killers.

Top OTs make about $11 million a year.

Absurd, he was nothing more than a bust in my opinion.

He makes the most now of any defensive end which is ridiculous, http://www.spotrac.com/top-salaries/nfl/defensive-end/
IMO he's a very good player but not near that type of payday.

You can check out the top salaries there, it's pretty interesting since it coincides with this article for avg salaries after the weighted select few big salaries..

BTW my comment was about HIM getting that type of money...I was thinking he would get 5 year 50-60 million not 6 yr 100million

If you are refer to ELITE at their respective position (guys who actually get big paydays), then you get a better idea of what a guy should expect to get.

All contracts have a precedent.

Brady's newest contract is about $15 million per year and Peyton's last deal with the Colts had him at $18 million per year.

Latest two DE contract have BOTH Julius and Mario at $16 million per year.

Best two OT contract are $12 million (Joe Thomas) and $11 million (Jake Long) per year.

That is the way it will go for future ELITE FA contracts. QB>DE>OT.
