Dolphins left tackle Mark Dixon was fined $7,500 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness in the Jets game. Although not penalized at the time, an NFL review of game film showed Dixon committing a leg whip against an unidentified Jets defender on a third-quarter running play.

10:40 PT: The Mercury News reports Oakland Raiders WR Jerry Rice has been fined $5,000 for a violation of the NFL's uniform code. Rice was fined for wearing tights during the team's September 15 game. He is appealing the fine. "They have taken so much out of the game. Guys used to have fashion statements, stuff to get them going," Rice said.
