Interesting that this info didn't pop up until he didn't make this game. I wonder how severe it is.

"The rookie running back and vital piece of the offense has a knee injury and didn’t make the trip to the Meadowlands, staying behind in Foxboro."

"It is believed that Maroney was hurt early in last Saturday’s victory over the Washington Redskins at Gillette Stadium. He carried on three straight plays in the first quarter, losing 2 yards off left tackle on his final run. He didn’t appear the rest of the game and then didn’t practice all week."

You know you won't get any details from the Pats.

He didn't practice all week and doesn't make the trip to their last pre season game. Yet they claim to not know what is wrong with his knee.

Bill is in mid-season form already with his injury reports.

I hope its not serious. I like Maroney.

Oh its a very serious injury that will most likely keep him sidelined for weeks. The rest of the NFL has no need to game plan with him in mind as a starter now so just put him out of your minds.

He's going to be way better in year two than year one.

I heard it was not serious. He's done very well thru traing camp and preseason and I think you'll find this is more a rest period and a little insurance that he'll be in there on opening day.

what a horrible way to begin youre rookie season.

Evidently he's so hurt he's practicing in full pads, full contact.

ESPN has retracted their story.
