Technically it's $30 million extension over the three years that will pay Marshall just under $40 million for the remaining life of his contract.

Marshall also noted he's pledging $1 million to the "mental health community." Pretty awesome.

Marshall was acquired by the Bears in a trade with the Dolphins for two third-round picks(that looks like a STEAL now, huh?).

In two years since he's caught 218 passes for 2,803 yards and 23 touchdowns. He's also turned around his life off the field and become a real ambassador for mental health in the sporting community.

Good for B-Marsh for turning his life around.

God, that one still hurts.

Usually im quick in my desire to throw out the idiots. Marshall i never felt so strongly about. Granted, the crimes he allegedly committed(and theres no doubt in my mind he treated women like **** and put his hands on them, i just dont think they were cut up like his ex insisted) were appalling and he probably should have spent some time in a jail cell. That said, he was sick. And, unlike some of the other nutcases we've had and still have, he was willing to seek out treatment for his illness.

I too am glad he turned his life around and i applaud his efforts to shine light on the issue of mental health. Im pleased he seems to use every opportunity to shift the spotlight on it.

He was always turning hiumself around. We said the same thing here. He is an idiot but he was a better player than Wallace who is a differant kind of idiot

Wow my opinion of this man just changed immensely, which is saying alot given his past behaviour towards women. That is an awesome thing for him to do and as someone diagnosed with MDD and who tests high on the BPD scale, its something I appreciate. Its insanely hard for folks suffering from MI to get the help they need and hopefully this can maybe play a role in breaking down the stifling stigma associated with it.
