Marshall was moved in order to complete a trade for D Jackson of philly

i cant believe some people would think this is true.

first of all, if it was true, which its not, this would make ireland look 10x worse than he actually is right now. this trade would not have made any sense whatsoever.

now u wanna tell me they wanted to add jackson to play alongside marshall to make our offense more potent? that would make sense.

but why the **** would u trade ur best wr and go downgrade at the position. jackson is very dangerous because he can make those big plays downfield, and he is a very dangeous special teams guy. however, as a number 1 wr, and he also brings along baggage which includes dogging it on the field at times, he cant be ur 1 wr.

hes a great deep threat and special teams guy, but would have been a downgrade to marshall. incarcerated bob is a moron, the guy knows nothing.

There aren't anymore Paul Warfields out there, I bet you was against that acqusition also LOL

why can't a desean jackson be your #1 wr??? that doesn't make any sense...what do you think he was in philly??? maclin wasn't the #1...jackson was and still is...lmao at the notion that this kid would be a major downgrade to marshall...they're just different type of players jacksons explosive as heck and offers high end return skills to boot but dbs are deathly afraid of his speed and quickness...

i swear some of you guys need to polish up your around the league eval skills...

forget about trades and draft picks for a minute, so................... it doesn't matter what Ireland does you're going to hate him anyway? LOL you guys are part of the of the problem and I know it's your opinion but come on guys lighten up just a little.

I've never hated Ireland...even with the mom's a prostitute question, other players have admitted hearing worse than that question, and many thought it was just part of the process.

I hate the fact that he traded an elite WR, something we have really never had, for 2 #3's without ANY replacement. Not only getting robbed in the deal, but leaving a gaping hole where there wasn't one when the offseason started. It's moronic.

It isn't that we don't like Desean....but giving up a #2 to get a guy with similar #'s who had a better QB and cast around him doesn't make sense. Especially when he is also a head case that decided to take off some of the year bc of contract disputes.

Wow, this thread is back from spam. Lol. This thread was started to give you some insight into this marshall trade. We wouldn't have just traded him for 2 3rds because he is a head case and has some shakey hands. There was more. D jackson was the more. Philly didn't think they were going to be able to sign him to a deal comfortable to them so he was going to be traded off on us. However those jerks had a breakthru on talks with jackson and signed him long term and screwed irelands deal.

The dolphins suck right now, the gm sucks right now. We're allowed to be fans of the team still, and say it like it is.

You know what they say, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

it doesn't make sense for philly to me most of all...mike vicks game is about banging you with the deep ball and that big arm with very good deep accuracy you take desean jackson away from him you really hurt that o imo...but then again if jacksons contract demands were such that the eagles didn't feel like they could get it done maybe they did float him and when his handlers got word about it maybe his demands dropped into the eagles window thus we got left holding the bag...

i don't think it would have been a good deal for us though cause we just don't have the high end qb...and if you trade for him to make him happy camper you would have to work out a very lucrative contract...and without the qb your not getting the bang for your buck

10 million to a receiver doesn't really sit well with me either. I look at ne, gb, no, Pitt, Balt, the giants and sf and while they have very good receivers, they aren't making them one of if not their highest paid players.

I don't believe in the trade for that reason as well....Philly isn't as stupid as we are to trade an elite WR when he means so much the thier offense.

Colston just got a big contract....Vernons is big I beleive....NE franchised Welker...that makes him pretty high up there.....Boldin's making a lot....

Maybe Enduro IS Ireland?

Then he needs a better excuse that this one....lol

as for marshall i didn't like the return on that trade either but a few days later we found out he had gotten in trouble again and was likely facing a susp this year at that point it made more sense to me...marshalls had plenty of opportunities to turn it around here and just never did...there was heavy word the bears were goin hard after v jackson in free agency but the price got rediculous so they backed out and ireland at that point has to strike while he can cause the bears would have turned their attention to another free agent wr had we not gotten it done when we did...just prior to free agency opening...so yeah 2 3rd rounders given the susp and all is not a bad return...i just think ireland was fed up with marshall and we were dumping him one way or another...why not go to a wr hungry team and see what you can get...
