Marshall was moved in order to complete a trade for D Jackson of philly

There is no way you trade B-Marsh for D-Jax. BM is a big physical WR that is fearless. He is the best run after catch WR in the league because no DB wants to get Trucked by him, which would make him a great fit for a short passing game (Philbin's offense). He goes deep, he goes over the middle and never quits. He is a passionate, intense guy and a bit of a head case. DJax is a speedy, little, deep threat WR that has some shake and bake moves, a great return man, but he quits, is not fearless over the middle, and is also a head case. No way I trade Bmarsh to get DJax.

If Ireland wanted to do this and got burned, he is a dumbass. but he should have made it a 3 team deal and included the Bears, and eliminated the opportunity to get totally burned by Philly backing out. For example, B_marsh to Chicago, two 3rd rounders from Chicago to philly, and D-Jax to Mia. N way I throw in an additional 2nd rounder from us to Philly, that makes the deal even more lopsided in their favor, because Chicago and Philly are already getting the best of that deal. Not sure if this is true or just a rumor but I hope Ireland is not this big of a buffoon.

3 team would have been the better play but chicago never gets involved with us on this deal if v jackson doesn't price himself out of their range...the bucs blew away everyone else with their offer...and you don't find out your out of it to just prior to start of free agency...which is when this trade was consummated...when the bears knew v jacks was a no go

Read it again even though there is no truth to it.

the other thing about 3 team trades...how often does that happen in the nfl...thats the kind of stuff you see in the nba

as for marshall i didn't like the return on that trade either but a few days later we found out he had gotten in trouble again and was likely facing a susp this year at that point it made more sense to me...marshalls had plenty of opportunities to turn it around here and just never did...there was heavy word the bears were goin hard after v jackson in free agency but the price got rediculous so they backed out and ireland at that point has to strike while he can cause the bears would have turned their attention to another free agent wr had we not gotten it done when we did...just prior to free agency opening...so yeah 2 3rd rounders given the susp and all is not a bad return...i just think ireland was fed up with marshall and we were dumping him one way or another...why not go to a wr hungry team and see what you can get...

So if Marshall isn't suspended...then what?

And if he IS suspended (let's say for 4 games)....we get our elite WR back. Instead of taking a huge chance on 2 #3's and leaving a huge hole at WR.

Like I said before, the trade itself is bad.....but not trying to replace him, is far beyond stupid.

why can't a desean Jackson be your #1 wr??? that doesn't make any sense...what do you think he was in philly??? maclin wasn't the #1...Jackson was and still is...lmao at the notion that this kid would be a major downgrade to Marshall...they're just different type of players jacksons explosive as heck and offers high end return skills to boot but dbs are deathly afraid of his speed and quickness...

i swear some of you guys need to polish up your around the league eval skills...
jackson is not their number 1. jackson is a explosive wr to have on your team, but all his catches are like 25-30 yds down the field. hes a big play guy, thats what he is.

hes not someone who will continuously move the chains on a drive for u, hes not big enough to go up for jump balls. what he does is make big plays deep down the field, and is a great special teams player.

whether or not u think he would be an upgrade over Marshall, that's your opinion, but that trade still wouldn't make sense. now if we added Jackson to Marshall, that would have been fantastic, but i don't see how we would have upgraded from that trade if it was a real proposal.

That's what I was thinking, too. But Ireland should have been smart enough to not leave himself in such a vulnerable position.
Of course this whole thing may just be a rumor anyways....

i find it hard to believe that marshall was moved specifically for a desean jackson trade...i'm more along the lines of marshall got in trouble again dolphins got wind of it and decided they were gonna get out with whatever they could found a partner in chicago after they were out on v jacks and made the deal and then went to philly on d jacks to see if could work something out...

cause if marshall was traded just so we could have picks for a d jacks trade that sounds irresponsible and far fatched to me...too many ifs and possible obstacles there

jackson is their #1...and they paid him as such...

I don't believe this Desean trade at all. If the Dolphins were stupid enough to overreact and the first report of what happened with B Marshall, thats another insanely dumb move. The news is always worse when it first comes out, therefore the trade would be the least beneficial for us at the time we traded him, right after the incident happened.

if that is true [doubt it] i cant count how many ways this was BAD!!

from the amount of pics to the bumbling involved, etc.....

the nfl has said that NEITHER THE FINZ OR BEARS new about brandons incident, it happened late at night the on the day of the trade.

ireland didnt pull any fast ones saving miami from a brandon suspension and being a hero. no. nope.

if he took a handshake agreement on this kind of deal, with this kind of player, he is an IDIOT supreme. if the iggles backed out like reported, they are scumbags, but, a scumbag move that saved us a lot of hi pics that shouldnt have been involved for desean.

either way, ireland is STILL a boob.

and it appears the PSYCO HOMERS on this board are trying hard to find a crumb to bail out ireland. "oh look! he walked his secretary to her car last week. see, he isnt so bad. how do you bashers feel now?"

the super bad moves and the lack of positive ones that have helped the team and its future FAR OUT WEIGH any good ones he has done. plus, people just do not seem to like doing biz with him. he comes off as a used car salesman from reports of ones who have dealt with him [and left]. throw in the dez bryant crack ho thing that looks like he is stuck with for life and there is NO defending him. keeping him is hurting the team and its future.

he should have gone with sparano. there are PLENTY of pro people around the nfl who are ready to draft and ireland should be replaced before things get MUCH worse.

Get your facts straight before you ramble on. The Bears have stated very clearly they where well aware of BM's latest incident and this is the reason he was dumped for two thirds.
