Marshall was moved in order to complete a trade for D Jackson of philly

Wow, I hope that story isnt true. Really makes Ireland look like a boob.

the sad thing is that i can us signing someone of the caliber of chad johnson and drafting multiple wrs. hopefully we hit on one of the wr's. I am looking for a comeback year from chad.

If we're gonna draft Marshall's replacement, lets invest a high pick for once. Enough with the Patrick Turners, Hartlines, Gates

This would have been an awful trade. You give up 3 freakin picks for a guy who pouted all last season cause he didn't get his contract...what happens when he's not paid among the top 10 receivers? Does he pout again? Not to mention all the boneheaded crap he does on the field like unsportsman like conduct penalties for his TD celebrations, fumbling before he crosses the goal line when no one is around him cause he's showboating, etc.

Say what you want about Marshall's drops, his off field issues but Marshall never gave minimal effort on the field like Jackson did this past season. Philly would have raped us again...like they did in the A.J. Feeley trade.

If true which I highly doubt, It's just another massive screw up by the FO not having a basic clue and thoughtlessly forgetting to put such a transaction in writing before you pull the trigger and throw away one of your players....

Don't think Irerland is that stupid, but I can easily be wrong and wouldn't be surprised at all if I was....

But then there were the Jets who didn't think reading Tebow's contract was important......lol....But I'm thrilled they worked it out....

Sparano
Sanchez
tebow
disgruntled Stanton
Damn if we just could of passed along Ireland

chad johnsons washed up...

chad johnsons washed up...

I think he will be released soon and I could see the fins bringing him in to work with a more friendly offense for him if he's committed himself. I don't think he's washed up yet. we shall see though

Brandon was moved as part of a trade that would have us send a 2nd, and two 3rds to philly for D jackson. Philly then backed out of the deal after the marshall trade was complete. Now what do you think of Jeff Ireland? I would have loved that.
:lol2:

So we would send Brandon Marshal, a 2nd, and two 3rds to Philly . . . for Desean?

Talk about getting raped

Bad logic
You could say marshall plus a two for desean.

ENDURO....What went on with Y. Bell? No one here was really surprised to see him cut due to his cap number. But...why promise him he wasn't going to be cut, and then do it anyway? And explain the timing of the cut. Once I saw he was cut I expected it to be because we had a FA deal in place and we needed the cap space. Thanks.

Lol. This thread was started to give you some insight into this marshall trade. We wouldn't have just traded him for 2 3rds because he is a head case and has some shakey hands. There was more. D jackson was the more. Philly didn't think they were going to be able to sign him to a deal comfortable to them so he was going to be traded off on us. However those jerks had a breakthru on talks with jackson and signed him long term and killed irelands deal.

Yeah, the "breakthrough" was that they told him they were sending him to Miami and he broke DOWN and was willing to take any thing they would give him not to have to be banished to us.

That's how bad it is.

its all about money. At least they waited till the jets signed Laron (this is why he was cut after laron was signed). Now we can resign at a discount. It sucks but thats business. Nobody is guaranteed they won't be cut.

chad johnson

The head cases keep getting bigger. That has-been changed his name to a number.

If we continue this progression, we will have Randy Moss and Terrell Owens as our wideouts.

Sad part is we have posters in here who would actually LOVE that.

First off, I don't buy this for one second. If there was even a hint of truth to this, it would have been reported on already. With all the craziness and one-upmanship going on in the media, someone would have gotten word of this and subsequently been tripping over themselves to report it. Yet, there hasn't been one mention of this anywhere, not even as a rumor.

However, hypothetically, if this went down then it would have been another in a long line of blunders by this front office. Brandon Marshall AND a 2nd round pick for Desean Jackson? Really? Hell, why stop there, how about Jake Long and a 2nd for Ryan Kalil.

Point being, Jackson is a very good player but he is not better than Marshall and he most certainly is not a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round pick better than Marshall. If you were sincerely worried about Marshall being suspended then trading Marshall and maybe a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] for Jackson, that I could see, but a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP]? No freaking way. You don’t just give away 1[SUP]st[/SUP] or 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] picks, especially based on a maybe.

Bottom-line, we got jobbed (AGAIN) by the Bears for Marshall. You do not trade away elite players in this league for anything short of a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round pick.

The Eagles come calling every off season to see if they can screw us over... and usually they do. This would have been another disaster of a trade. Get rid of one of the best receivers for little compensation. Get one good receiver for more compensation. WTF?
