Martin incident

I see what you're saying...I really do. But I guess I just feel like if a 300lb man that makes millions playing in the nasty trenches of the NFL could handle such things. It's no worse than a minimum wage worker that gets picked on at work and just deals with it. Is the treatment of his teammates THAT much worse than what he experiences from opposing players on sunday? If he feels it is, maybe he should find another line of work.
Considering he is guilty of a felony against a team mate in the state of Florida.
He's mad about being called names?

This must happen thousands of times a day in the US workforce. Mr. Martin should probably grow a pair and learn to say **** YOU.
And he may do either or both of those things. We shall see. But whether he does or not, people should be free of harassment in the workplace.

Yes he does have an obligated contract but in what contract does it state that being harassed by your own teammates is part of the deal? You guys do realize that bullying and such is what caused Columbine and it is why people go crazy over constant harassment. It doesnt matter your age or size, the brain is the same. He did what he thought was best for him was to leave a harmful situation.

You don't know the extent of the harassment and neither do I but one would think what has been going on in that locker room has done nothing beneficial for this team and Martin's well being.

There's no room for bullying or hazing or whatever garbage happens in a NFL locker room. I'm more embarrassed that the team I love employs *******s that act like middle schoolers or support an obvious scumbag like Aaron Hernandez.

I gotcha with the harassment thing , but please let's not connect the Columbine situation to Jon Martin flaking out this season.

"Put there lives on the line", that's stretching it just a bit. I wonder in a private poll for the players next Sunday, how many would say after the game that they put their lives on the line. Id like to see them answer "live" as well with military watching. I'd like to watch their expressions. What would Randy Moss sound like...."Randy puts his life on the line when Randy wants to put his life on the line". What about Ocho C. "Honey I need to wear these condoms when I'm cheating on you 'cause I'm putting my life on the line, (insert headbutt) it's not like I was just at practice or something. What would Clabo sound like?

On the other hand, There's nothing better than when someone helps you carry the water.

I have more of a problem with players playing practical jokes in the midst of a 4 game losing streak than I do with Martin leaving

LMBO What.......... I hate to see your staff, because they all will be at home because they didnt like something you said. lol

As a mature adult you don't let events lead to being the "last straw". Let alone make statements via facebook. He is a professional and has decided to act like an amatuer.

No matter the environment as an adult you don't just pick up and leave when you have a contract. It's not the way you conduct business. And the situation is not even considerably severe as Martin isn't hospitalised/institutionalised.

He was the victim of some pranks, big deal. Last I checked this is the NFL.

Martin made an irrational decision and decided to flat out quit on the team.

Why are you trying to justify his decision, do you not understand?

Ever been treated like crap by a large group of people before? Think about being in someone else's shoes for just a second, and then think that this might not have been one or two incidents of it. think about one and half years time. Quitting is a matter of opinion if your surrounded by your enemies.
