Martin is a Great pick and a steal at #41....

Guys, we are looking for more athletic, quick lineman now, not just cornfed guys. Martin fits that perfectly. Great pick. Should do well in more zone blocking type sheme.

Philbin doesnt want HUGE mauling linemen he wants more athletic linemen to go with the new blocking scheme not only that Msrtin offers alot more versatility can play 4 spots on the line
 
Martin is a value pick at that spot in the draft in a position of need... Would of preferred a WR but should have good options in the 3rd RD....
 
Martin was a great pick....he could be the best Tackle coming out of this draft...definetley a steal
 
awful pick! can he catch touchdowns? can he sack the qb? the packers offensive line was a mess the year they won the SB but they could throw the fball and get after the QB, we should of taken curry, hill, jeffery, or randle, the offensive line is overrated and jeff ireland will never learn that, where has jake long and pouncey gotten us?

Draft is about getting talented players. Bypassing talent for "scheme" leads to losses. Its easier to adapt a coaches scheme then it is to manufacture talented players.
 
dont hate the pick. Mike Pouncey was considered weak when he was drafted and had to build up strength. He should be stronger this year after he got overwhelmed by big strong NT's last season. It will be the same for Martin, he will get stronger next year in 2013 with the training program. You cannot teach great feet, and that is very important for the zone blocking scheme Miami will be running for the O-line

Guys like Cordy Glenn and his brick cement feet in the mold of the slow Incognito is NOT was miami needed for this blocking scheme. And a guy like Massie doesn't have great feet either. So Martin was the right choice for the O-line with this scheme

Ever see Vernon Carey try to pull over the last 3 years ?? It made you want to gag. Same for Incognito with his crappy cement feet. This line will be far more athletic with alot of pulls and trap blocking. Both Pouncey and Martin (and even Jake) will see a lot of pulling action

No more of those slow and pathetic fat slugs up front. And thank god for that.

Stephen Hill ran maybe 3 different routes in college, he isn't a guy that is going to come in and immediately produce like Martin will. Martin was a steal, and filled a need. How do people not like this pick?
 
I like the pick. We are now just a good guard away from having a very solid line. Murtha will provide a good back up for the position as well.

because you can never please our fan base... even after 100 percent of people on finheaven hated colombo .. people still complain about picking a day 1 starter for our right side...
