martin not the only dolphin liking the locker room culture here?

that's a load of crap! I work in construction and let me tell you, the first year on the job is hell! You'll get screamed at for no reason, you'll pay for other peoples meal, you'll wash your bosses trucks... and at some point there will be a new batch of people to fk around with and you'll be the one messing with them. Its a repeated process and those who cant handle change their fking life path like men... Theres the occasional rich boy who'll try some fency stuff but it never changed anything, its just the way it is.... Martin can be a man or a *****, its his choice...

Which is EXACTLY what is wrong with the world today....people who think or act like they are owed something, people who bully b/c they find a way to justify it, people who take from others (either through bullying/intimidation or flat out stealing). It's people like you who accept this garbage and allow it to continue. How do you expect the children of tomorrow to change their ways when the parents of today act like children themselves?

Stuff like this is not the way of the world....it's the way of idiots. It does not prove your loyalty or botherhood. Fighting alongside those guys on the playing field and giving it your all does that. Or in your construction scenario, showing up to work every day and busting your ass to help those guys proves it.

How far are yall going to parent the locker room. No one can tell jokes, play card games, tweet, speak to each other. Just go to practice and go home. smh some of yall who want MORAL CONTROL is unbelievable. Every time one person cries we must change the culture. If want rules that control how you act, speak and have relationships with each other please move to china.

Well you can either expect this dream world of yours to ever come to reality, which given human nature, is sort of a very long shot. Or you can come to accept that in all aspects of life, groups are competitive and tend to weed out the weak naturally. And in this specific case, we're not talking about any group, we're talking about grown men who have had to do violent **** all their lives to get to where they are.

Agreed. You are defined by the choices you make & how you handle adversity.

I agree. I'd like to lay this at the feet of the hip hop culture but the Billy Joel Song We did not start the fire proves, The world has difficult and ugly since the Big Bang.

All we can do is do our best at being better today than we were yesterday. Getting too attached or to apologetic for the Status Quo is a mortal sin IMO.

How is not paying $30,000 for dinners weeding out the weak? Weeding out the weak is physically taking someone to their limits in training camp to see if they are worthy of playing next to the veterans in the regular season wars. Weeding out the weak is pushing the new construction worker with a 12 hour day of physical labor, yelling at him when he screws up to see if he will break. If he doesn't, you have a keeper. It's not making a guy pay for your mortgage or car payment or picking up a ridiculous bill he probably can't afford. I understand where you are trying to take your argument but it doesn't hold water in this case.

Grown men having to do violent *** all their lives? What are you talking about here, football? I played. Many of my friends played....many of us in college too. Yes, it is a violent game but it didn't change who we were/are. If you are talking about the background of many of these guys and what they grew up around, that REALLY doesn't justify things.

And here we go....someone taking something to the extreme because they have no idea where the lines should be drawn. Great argument.

Did you not read how Tomlin policed the locker room during putzburgh's 1st losing streak this season?

Or the Bay Area? The irony bomb will go off in 5, 4,...

Ok I see what really bugs here is the 30 000$ dollar dinner? Because thast what I find the biggest fking joke in all of this... All the vets get this free meal because at some point, they've had to pay it... WFT is 30 000$ when you can potentially get paid millions of dollars playing football. Its just like the new guy paying the coffee for the first few months on the job... can I afford paying coffee for 5-10 guys every day for a few months? maybe maybe not, but Im going to make god damn sure that's what I want do do for a living ASAP because if I decide Im not cut out for this 3 months from now, aint nobody giving me money back for all those fking coffees... I get the feeling Martin just figured out he's not cut out for this and will make anything in his power to get the most money he can from this stint...

Lets not have this dissolve into the whole nature v nurture argument. There are Ivy league educated jerks on Wall St, farmers in rural Iowa make Mother teresa jealous, and vice versa.

Its about your learning from your choices to be a better, well rounded individual.

This whole arguement is to the extreme we have already in the extreme. Wanting to be a parent to grown ass men, on everyone needs to be polite to each other.

The NFL needs to make it against league policy for any type of hazing or making the rookies pay for meals etc. Problem solved.

sounds like a great plan..but as of now the Dolphins are still in deep ****

Im sorry but this whole thing with martin is getting to be alittle ridiculous. If the guy has some sort of legit metal illness that's one thing if the guy is crying about being "bullied" then hes nothing but a B*tch. Then from other articles I read, he played pranks himself on others but now when they r turned on him he cries about it. Man up. Me and my boys play pranks and talk Sh*t to eachother all the time and we shrug it off and take it like a man. We wait for the next opportunity to rag on the next guy and so on and so forth but we don't cry about it. Doesn't mean I don't care about or dislike my friends but that's what guys do. i guess time will tell about martin but I think hes done in the nfl

If it were just the Dolphins, that's one thing. This happens regularly on every team in the NFL. 30K isn't even the most documented. Not even close actually.
Dez Bryant had one almost double that.
