Martin Steals Samunda's Car: Why can he bully other's and not be held accountable.

Gotta wonder why it is, don't you?

Why is it that when Martin does it to others, it's a funny joke.
When it happens to him, all of a sudden, it's soooooo horrible *Does boogeyman hands*

Martin is NO sort of victim here. None at all. If he's so upset with the
culture, etc then why did/does he, himself participate in it?

Lets call it what it is; If bullying is wrong, then it's wrong. There's no such thing
as "pranks" and "clowning" and "good natured ribbing" because it's all about when
someone feels offended.

I've heard it said; "Oh, the car thing was a group prank
and didn't leave any psycological impact".

Really? We're psycologists now? We know what's in a man's head
or heart? I've been told that I can't know, so, nobody else can
either I guess. Either things are right, or they are wrong. I'd say a
group of people engaging in a felony against another person would
just about be the very definition of bullying, would it not?

At any rate, it's interesting to see all the different motivation and slants
coming off this. The racial aspect is only being pursued on one end,
predicatably.

I personally think that Martin may indeed hate the culture in the NFL, as his
whole life he's probably been taught to litigate/report/let others handle it. He's
made some money, and he's gotten a good degree from Stanford. He'll be
just fine in life, like most of those born with the silver spoon.

This.

Plus we don't know what else Cogs did.

Don't know what else Martin did either.

In terms of locker room/ teammate context it was actually pretty miniscule. Trust me, you would be appalled to hear most locker room banter. To me it looks like Martin likes to dish it out to others but can't take it.

I have been in plenty of locker rooms in my time and no what goes on. Listening to Bill Polian right now this is beyond hazing they just read the voicemail from Richie and it's just ridiculous. I think Polian has a great idea how the NFL works he'll many on him want him as a GM. He said " I would release him, it is beyond hazing, horse play etc. it is unacceptable behavior and cannot be tolerated!" He also said Jeff Saturday was the Colts Union Rep ant the time and he would have stopped this long ago. He blamed Dolphins leadership top to bottom.

There is a difference between pulling pranks and bullying. Can't help people who don't know the difference.

The bullying is the voicemails, texts, forcing Martin to pay $15,000, and the like actions. The pranks were not bullying. Also, we don't know what was said to Martin on Tuesday when everyone got up from the table. Incognito might have said something to him that was the final straw.
How did he force Martin to pay 15K? Did he pull a gun on him or something? How are pranks not bullying?

Yes, but once again playing Devil's advocate, we don't know the context the voice mails were left in (were they joking or motivative) or even get to hear the entire voicemail. Hell, Cogs could have gone on to say, "Love you man, keep up the good work, the team is really gonna need you" and we would never know it.

There is gonna be a lot more information coming out and I think when all is said and done Cogs is just gonna get in trouble for things that are said/happen in every locker room in the NFL.

He was dumb enough to call him a half-******( sorry if the filter doesn't catch this)on his voicemail!

Stop just stop it is time for you guys to take off the Dolphin blinders! Incognito is a bad seed he has went to far and his ass needs to be shipped to the curb.

Playing Devils advocate again!

Goonboss has brought this up a ton recently and I have one question for those treating Martin as such a martyr for bullying.

If Martin thought hazing and bullying was so terrible in the NFL why does he do it as well? Below is a link which shows a picture of Martin stealing rookie Josh Samunda's car during training camp.

As you can also see in the story Cogs and Martin were both in on the prank.

http://www.thephinsider.com/2013/7/...-josh-samudas-car-stolen-during-training-camp

Also Jeff Darlington just said on the Jim Rome show that the Martin pulled the cafeteria prank on others many times in the past as well.

So my question once again is why can Martin get away with bullying other players yet get upset when he gets supposedly bullied?

Excellent points IMHO

I don't know, I wasn't there.

If you don't know the difference between the hate spewed in those texts and messages vs a prank....well I can't help you.

All you goodie two shoes should stop painting my grandson as a monster, he is an upstanding gentleman that refuses to let a half n..uhm person not be responsible for sucking as a player

That's fair, I think neither will play for the Dolphins again.

The difference is Richie was dumb enough to leave physical evidence.

I would agree with you there. That was not a smart thing to do.
You sort of have to wonder if Martin did the same thing to him, and
he didn't think anything of it.

Words vs felony.

Words vs felony.

Now days those words can be a felony.

Now days those words can be a felony.

You are a funny man, almost as funny as having a lead against the chosen one and choking it away as usual

I understand but there is also no context associated with reading a quote. Was he laughing/joking when he said those things? I don't know, but it's possible. I've left some voice mails to some of my roommates and teammates that no doubt would paint me in just as bad a light as Cogs if you read them aloud. But, if you heard them they paint an entirely different story.

Rookies buying a team meal is considered a right of passage in the NFL. Well, I guess it was until this fiasco.
