This thread is for all the Marty Booker doubters. Because he had a "quiet" preseason people were trying to make him a No. 3 receiver. Now I know this is just one game, but he looked like a No. 1 guy today. He made some great catches today. The guy is an old school blue collar receiver whose snagging passes with his bare hands. Yes, he had an average year last year, but that was due to two reasons: 1) he got traded by the Bears who made it clear to him that he would not be traded; and 2) he was playing in Wanny's non-existent offense. I look for a solid year out of him.

This is an aside, but I just need to type this. I am now certain that Dave Wannstedt is one of the worst coaches (if not the worst). He's taken his alma mater to a horrible 0-2 record with a loss against a first year coach and a loss against the Univeristy of Ohio, which is inexplicable. Well that's all I have.

Anyone who doubted Booker didn't see how hard he played in Chicago. Honestly, with the game on the line, there is no reciever on our team I'd rather count on to make the clutch play- maybe not the most spectacular, but the one that helps the team the most.

this was already addressed today after the game. i'd post the link, but there were SO many threads created in the last 5 hours that its probably 4 pages back by now. but yes, the point was made and taken.

He's a great route runner that has a great feel for the openings in the zones.

Booker is more tha a possession reciver IMHO

He sure looked like more than a possession guy on the td. He just outran the coverage. Really good job there of taking advantage of a mismatch.

He's no burner but if you want someone to make the catch and get that first down, he's the guy.

Yea and for the people calling him slow... go look at the TD he had.. outran 2 Broncos

ya its funny to see all these trade so and so or cut so and so and then when the season starts and they do well, everyone kisses their a$$

The quote I loved from last year was when someone asked Booker if he was slow. He responded I think by saying something to the effect of, " I don't remember too many guys catching me from behind." Today proved it. An absolute perfect throw and catch and then Marty just went flying down the field for the TD.

He looks a little smaller to me actually. Did he lose a little bit of weight to help himself become faster? Either way, I am glad he was on our team today.

He out ran two of the Broncos slowest secondary defenders. A cramped up Lenny Walls & old man John Lynch. Booker is just a possession receiver.

No many people lose weight also in that heat don't be surprised. It's common to look a bit thin and I mean he is only 212 if I'm not mistaken. That's not HUGE in this day and age...

The great part was that Frerrote didn't go with Chambers on that play. He saw that Walls was gassed and went against him instead of Foxworth (might have been Darrent, but I doubt it). Walls isn't that slow SMAD, he was cramped up though.

And did more then any receiver on the field. "Just a possession" receiver. So your going to dump on him cause he does his job and does it well? Ah right you'd be more impressed with the speedster who gets thrown to 10 times in a game but only catches 4 of the passes cause he's got stone hands ala the Seahawk receivers of last year.

He was making plays before all those boys went down.
