Forget Mora / Gailey, nobody wants those guys down here, nobody. There's going to be a great / proven head coach out there for us, and in my opinion it should be Marty Schottenhiemer....

When, and hopefully if he gets fired, he's the only logical choice in my opinion. Yeah, he's in his 60's, and yeah he's got a poor playoff record under his belt, but this guy can flat out coach....

He's one of the best head coaches in the league in fact, and it would be a shame to go ahead with someone out of the college ranks like Gailey, as apposed to hiring a proven winner in Schottenhiemer....

You guy's can't tell me you would rather hire Mora or Gailey can you???....

I am willing to have him be the coach. Plus he has worked with Hudson so that is a bonus.

All I really want is to see some true OFFENSE.. who brings it to us I don't really care.. Need to score 24 or more a game.
 
I don't think that they are going to fire him because he went 14-2. If he went 9-7 and barely made the playoffs than i would say he's a goner.
 
Marty and the GM don't even speak to each other.

By the way, Marty wanted to keep Cleo Lemon, the GM overruled him.

Drew Brees as well.
 
The only thing that scares me about Marty.....post-season failure. I dont want a guy that can get us to the post-season again and lose. I'd rather a guy that can get us there and win. Schottenheimers 5-13 career post season record with NO Super Bowl apperances and with some of the teams he's had is just awful.

Well, let's get respectable first. I'd rather be worrying a about whether or not we can win a playoff game rather than worrying about whether or not we can win a game. I'd love Marty to be coach.

I'd like to have one too, but we can't have "The Perfect Head Coach". If Marty is on the market within the next couple of days however, he's probably the closest thing to it that we'll get....

I like Marty, he builds good teams...just needs that extra push to make it through the playoffs

I would take Marty in a second. Hell, I'd just like this team to gain respect and reach the playoffs again. Then again, I would rather complain about losing in the playoffs than not getting there at all or always looking for a new HC all the time. This franchise needs stability. If not Marty then Chan & Dom.
 
Marty's a good coach albeit kinda too conservative for my tastes. If he comes onto the market, he instantly becomes a front-runner because of his experience. That said, I don't think Chargers will can him. As for playoffs, Nick Saban is 0-0 and 0 is less than 0.3846153846 (Marty's playoff win ratio).
