Although he will be limited in minicamp drills as a precautionary measure, the Dolphins could try showcasing Culpepper enough to entice one of two clubs currently in dire need of a starting quarterback into making a trade for a low-round pick.

Oakland seems the best fit. The Raiders would obtain the strong-armed thrower that team owner Al Davis loves while being able to reunite Culpepper with wide receiver Randy Moss. Oakland could then bypass Russell to draft Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson, who seems worthy of being the first wide receiver chosen at No. 1 since Keyshawn Johnson in 1996.

Seeing that Minnesota is out of the question following Culpepper's messy departure from the franchise last offseason, there is one other destination point that would make sense in a barren market for veteran quarterbacks. Cleveland is a team whose coach (Romeo Crennel) and general manager (Phil Savage) are under enough pressure to win in 2007 following two lousy seasons that they could be willing to gamble on Culpepper fully recovering and reemerging as one of the NFL's top players.

I mean sure its a good thought . . . but Marvez didn't even list who is gonna replace Daunte. Its cool to assume Trent Green and Brady Quinn . . . but right now I think the Dolphins need to get Daunte fully recovered for their own well being instead of another teams. I mean after the draft if we have Trent Green and a rookie QB on the roster then the scenario looks more interesting . . . but as of right now, Pep is the best option for this club and it is silly to make assumptions on the Dolphins trying to get rid of him.

We all assummed Stallworth, Washington, Lehr, Carr . . . and we have nothing to show for those interests . . . I wouldn't put Trent Green in the Dolphins back pocket just yet.

what?? we have qb issues? I dont believe it

I don,t see any of this going down other then Green to the Fins. Like Miami with Green, anyone who wanted DQ would just wait till he was cut. Like the man said. There are only a few teams who would take at look at DQ.

I am pretty sure I have seen the title of this article used for an article every year for the past seven years now.

"First of all, NO WAY Culpepper goes to Cleveland. You can forget that. Second of all, a WAIT AND SEE attitude does not mean you trade Culpepper if you acquire Green. I don't know how you get that assumption out of the phrase WAIT AND SEE without projecting your own bias in there, Alex. WAIT AND SEE means you secure an alternative (Green) possiblyt draft5 some youth and then go into camp and SEE WHERE YOU'RE AT. If the Dolphins were planning on dealing C-PEP away, they would NOT be taking a wait and see attitude. They would be aggressively packaging him and some picks for a chance to trade up and select a QB or they would have packeged some of the players they released earlier to a team to acquire a QB on their roster. Neither thing has happened. I believe the club believes that when HEALTHY, Culpepper gives the team the best chance of winning. WHEN HEALTHY. So, until he's PROVEN that he's healthy, you take a WAIT AND SEE approach. Wait and see does not mean WE GIVE UP. You don't trade him for a 5th round pick or something ridiculous like that. Alex, you don't like the QB and I understand why. He's not a smart QB who can pick apart defenses with his pre-snap reads. He's an athlete who ALWAYS holds the ball too long trying to make a busted play into a big one. He holds the ball too long because he's never sure of what he's seeing from the defense. I don't like that type of QB either, but Mueller and Cameron won't cut Culpepper loose until they're SURE he's not the guy. And until he's healthy and practicing, that can't happen. So, wait and see means just that! Wait until training camp and see what the guy can do in this offense. Might the Dolphins one day trade Culpepper, yes. But not this year. Not until they've GIVEN him an opportunity to show what he can do while HEALTHY. It is (I'm sure) all Culpepper himself asked for and it's what Mueller and Cameron intend to do. Green is a security blanket, nothing more. Besides, he's a walking concussion who had AWFUL numbers last year, just like Culpepper did the year before we acquired him. There's no CLEAR answer here. All you CAN do is wait and see. And that's JUST what we're doing. Let's not project our own conclusions anymore, Alex. It's unprofessional. GO PHINS."

that's exactly what I believe is going to happen. I just don't understand why people think one see when something else is said. What advantage would Cam-Mul be gaining if they gave the impression they were going to "wait and see"??

I think we give him till training camp or maybe some preseason games to show us how healthy he is and what he can do. He's got about four more months till pre-season.

I think beat writers don't have anything to write about so they have to write stories about something that is obvious. Why don't they just say, it could rain or be sunny or partly cloudy? And the sky is blue and the Pope is a Catholic and.....

Exactly if CPEP isn't healthy enough to play for us why would he be for anyone else? Silly....

Yeah I am sure a team will trade for a gimpy-legged QB who will more then likely NEVER be the same as he once was.

what?? we have qb issues? I dont believe it

no it really is true , I have read this same article and this same post a million and one times now on this board so it has to be. :read:
