Pats are rumoured to be considering the options of 'massive' front 4 sets, with Haynsworth & Wilfork in middle and 3-4 DE's manning the edge's. Considering ourselves & the Jets are run first teams, I can see the reasoning behind this, especially when the Pats lack decent 3-4 rush LB's.

With this in mind, I thought with our depth on D'line we would be more suitable than even the Pats to create out own massive front 4, especially against the Jets, also allowing Cam Wake time to rest on certain 1st downs.

We could have a line of Odrick-Starks-Solai-Langford, with Merling, McDaniel & Fields still as depth. Just an option

Big friggin deal. Teams will tear their sorry assss pass defense apart then. LOL, this is getting comical with this NE stuff on their ' WALL OF TERROR ' Its 2011, let them have their fat assses up front. Now let them try to fgure out how to put a pass defense together. When Brady goes away, the Patriots will finally be like that were until he came. SUCKY. they have sucked the entire life of their organization until Brady got there. Like the Jets, a brief blip here and there. Downward spiral of the classless Hoodie and his team starts this season. Watch for it.

reggie bush their fat ***** around in the heat and see what happens. glad we drafted pouncey. all i can say. dude might lose some battles but pouncey wont let it continue he will hold his own. sean ellis is a better pickup than Wilkinson IMO. fat and lazy. guess ron brace is indeed a bust. just goes to show that BB is not a draft king. he is a draft TRADE king.

The Patriots have the players to play a 4-3. They will probably run a hybrid defense that changes based on the offensive formations they are up against. Nothing new there...

Yeah what happens when we start moving the ball on them? Those big boys will get tired quick, and that will be easy with short routes, screens and sweeps. With not a lot of depth to sub out either, their D-line will be spent by the third quarter.

Totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to see us implement a 4 man front at times, especially if Odrick is the real deal. How could a line block Starks, Soliai, Langford, Odrick, and then just throw Wake or JT at them for fun.

Its almost comical

We have done this in the recent past just so you all know. Two/three years ago we'd go into this look every other game , for a few plays every game and the Pats have been doing it for years as well, and other 3-4 teams were doing it before most of us were even born.

I am really surprised BB is picking up all these troubled vets and guys that are on the downside. He always seems to have a reclamation project but i haven't seen so many at one time. You would think this could backfire big time. I guess his ego seems to think not but he has lost alot of coaches as well as vets that helped control the herd. It will be interesting to see if these guys will stay motivated long. I guess winning cures all but it will be fun to watch if they start losing. Hopefully we wouldn't try to game plan against them to run it down their throats. I would think they are trying to make teams one dimensional and force them to pass against them. The problem is their pass D sucks!

Bigger is not always better. I see us running outside of the tackles more with our personnel this year. Those big guys can have fun chasing down Reggie.

The real story with the Pats is why do they have so many holes on a team with 8 draft picks in the top 60? Because the great Belicheat doesnt know what he is doing on draft day now that his boy went to KC......think about it, they were thin on the DL to the point were they are signing 35 yr old lineman in FA, they dont have any LB with exception of two ILB, OL has no depth, WR was weak until they went the FA route and he uses smoke and mirrors on the defense which gets exposed every post season. The best draft Belicheat had was the yr he used every pick on a Florida Gator.....My prediction is Belicheat retires the same yr Brady retires......

The Pats are planning on playing alot of 4-3, so this isn't surprising. We could play a big 4 man front easily though, Ideally we'd do Odrick - Soliai - Starks - Langford, or we could sub in Misi, Merling, or Francis on the ends, and most of our D-Linemen could sub in at DT...

So were the two games we played against the Pats last season

Their defense doesn't scare me. It's Tom Brady who scares me. That offense went 14-2 last year. The second they got shut down, they were beaten in the playoffs in the first game. They haven't won a playoff game since 2007.
