Scouting Notes: Alonso is 8th in the AFC with 110 tackles and tied for first in the NFL with four defensive fumble recoveries. Alonso told me this week his injured hamstring injury is much, much better. It’s not easy to tackle with a broken thumb, but Alonso said he’ll do whatever it takes to get the opponent down. Tackling LeGarrette Blount is a very difficult challenge because of his size and strength. Linebackers Jelani Jenkins and Koa Misi are out so the combination of Neville Hewitt, Spencer Paysinger and Donald Butler will have to chip in. Miami is also without both its starting safeties, so there is enormous pressure on Alonso to find a way to dominate Sunday.
