Matt Flynn coming back to earth

I don't care where Flynn comes back to so long is it isn't Miami!

[Removed by Mod.] He's said repeatedly that he's waiting for Peyton to sign, and that's going to be the negotiating basis for his contract. And you're right, Orton and Henne are in demand, AS BACKUPS!

This is why I hate the Flynn-haters, because they ignore inconvenient facts just to suit their Moore-loving or Hennehill-loving agenda whose sole purpose is to line the pockets of Mr. Ross and that idiot no-soul ginger Ireland.

I'm sorry, the jets board is called gang-green and they are expecting your membership. This is all opinion and for you to call someone an ignoramus and not happy with anything here, go somewhere else

Maybe he thinks it's a compliment. I dated a girl from Jersey once who called me a "schmuck". She swore she thought it was a compliment. She thought it meant someone you could count on. :) lmao

When free agency started it was assumed he would get a huge 50 mil salary and there would be many teams chasing him.
NOPE Chad Henne and Orton both were in more demand and signed good contracts as back ups.
Flynn has played 2 games where as the other guys have starter experience.
Cleveland and Seattle expressed interest but as a back up or to compete with the guys they have now.
I'm not advocating Flynn but if all else failsl we can get him at a discount i believe.
Thoughts ?

I agree 100% why pay someone who's relatively unknown when you've got 2 decent starters that can compete for your team. I never understood the hype on Matt Flynn, 2 games aint $*** in the NFL to be worth that kind of money.

If Philbin brings Flynn here, I'm sure it will be with the understanding that he'd have to compete for the starting job. He may have the inside track due to his knowing the system, but with his limited experience, (no matter how good) I highly doubt he gets elite money and a starting gaurantee.

I think we put in an offer or told him what we think. I think Flynn could certainly end up here, but it wont be for 60 mil.

I don't want him here....but if he comes, he better be for a reasonable contract where he will be competing for the job.

Maybe I'm taking crazy pills, but I don't see what power or leverage Flynn has to determine the basis for his future contract. He doesn't have any leverage. All he can do is play teams against each other and hope for the best offer.

What Flynn meant is that he would wait for Manning to sign so that the teams that lost on Manning would have a chance to bid on him and drive the price up. Makes sense.

When can we expect.your avatar in the new uniform?

I hope Flynn comes to Miami I want him to compete for the starting job and he will help establish the offense because he knows the system philbin and Sherman want to run hopefully we can sign Flynn at a good price I would rather not pay him 10 mil a year I would be happy if it's around 6 but as long as we don't overpay and we can start adding some wr through fa and the draft we need to use the first pick on a wr

I believe the market is telling him he needs to prove that he can play at a high level over 16 games. He will probably get a short back loaded 3/4 year 20-28 mil deal. It's a nice pay increase and if he performs it's short enough to get the next huge contract.

That's how I see it.

Agree . That's a far cry from the 50 million they estimate a few weeks back. And also the point of my post.

Who do you want as quarterback then?

Manning but the odds are slim. If the price for Flynn is reasonable and he comes to compete with Moore it's not a bad option. Like they say build it and they will come. Hoping we build a strong team will a few free agents and some play making draft choices. Which ever QB our coach and Ireland agree on is ok my me.

Probably from Bayonne, right?

A couple things are in play here. First is that Flynn did not get the kind of attention many thought he would. This probably has something to do with his limited experience, and in Miamis case, the fact that the Manning chase has gone a bit longer than most thought it would. I for one think that Flynn is a good option if brought in to COMPETE, but not as a starter who we give too much money to. And then there is the crazy idea that miami is actually trying to play things a little smarter than they have in the past. Couple all of this with Philbins insight as Flynns OC and the fact that Moore is an inexpensive and at least a decent option at QB this year, and I think that there is a good chance that Miami has interest but will proceed with caution. This is called intelligent thinking. Which is more than I can say for some of the posters on here who have no real opinions and are pessimistic idiots who should go to the Jets boards where they will fit in immediately.
