Matt Flynn coming back to earth

A couple things are in play here. First is that Flynn did not get the kind of attention many thought he would. This probably has something to do with his limited experience, and in Miamis case, the fact that the Manning chase has gone a bit longer than most thought it would. I for one think that Flynn is a good option if brought in to COMPETE, but not as a starter who we give too much money to. And then there is the crazy idea that miami is actually trying to play things a little smarter than they have in the past. Couple all of this with Philbins insight as Flynns OC and the fact that Moore is an inexpensive and at least a decent option at QB this year, and I think that there is a good chance that Miami has interest but will proceed with caution. This is called intelligent thinking. Which is more than I can say for some of the posters on here who have no real opinions and are pessimistic idiots who should go to the Jets boards where they will fit in immediately.

This I got no problem with. The thing about everyone here is that NO ONE knows what Philbin is thinking! Maybe he thinks Flynn is worth it, but is being pushed by the higher-ups to chase the snipe known as Peyton Manning. Maybe he thinks he's garbage. We just don't know! And that is why I call the self-proclaimed know-it-alls in this board haters and ignorant.

Wow, you think teams just franchise their backup QBs like willy-nilly, especially a team that already has Aaron Rodgers? You must be insane. Do you realize how high a franchise tag for a QB is? Probably $18 million.

How so? He's a free agent!

Link or it didn't happen.

Name another starting QB who has been signed as of yet. EVERYONE is waiting on Peyton to stop dragging his feet!

Like I said, link or it didn't happen. That's what I hate about the Flynn-haters, they NEVER provide proof for their hatred! Boy, is this reminding me of the arguments I had with the Gusketeers! Arguments of which I was ultimately proved RIGHT!

Dude you must have a hard on for Flynn being so defensive. People have pointed out some relivent facts and you just attack to the point of calling me ignorant because you still believe this guy's **** doesn't stink.
I'm fine with getting Flynn. He can compete with Moore and may the best QB win.
Lay off the name calling homboy. This is finheaven not ganggreen so be civil or be gone.

Wow, you think terms like "Flynn-haters" and "Gusketeers" is name-calling? You must have some really thin skin to think that.

And all I said to the Flynn-haters is "links or it didn't happen". So, links or it didn't happen!

Thanks to mods for remove the part where you called me ignorant. NO ONE ON HERE has said one thing about hating Matt Flynn. It's a decussion about his projected salary (going down) and the lack of teams persuing him ( Seattle and us) that's being discussed. If you what to make a point tell us why you think he's worth 50 mil as apposed to 25 mil. Please provide a link ... or it did not happen , right ?

Would be great if we could get him for a decent amount of money...And not play Kolb like numbers...

The Dolphins also are watching the
Matt Flynn
Market drop before everyone's eyes. This is another side benefit to waiting for Manning. Everyone is getting a realistic view of what the football world thinks of Flynn.

If he was seen as a franchise quarterback, Flynn would have been offered a deal the minute the free-agent period started. Did you see the feeding frenzy over
Robert Griffin III
resulting in the ransom of three first- and a second-round pick Washington spent to get him?

Flynn is having the opposite effect. Teams are backing off. Cleveland is taking a pass, preferring instead to consider taking Texas A&M quarterback
Ryan Tannehill
with the fourth pick in the draft. That's interesting.

Seattle scheduled a visit with Flynn for Thursday night. That's two days after free agency began. That's not exactly hustling the deal. Plus, they're bringing him in right after
Chad Henne
, which puts things in a certain perspective.he Dolphins also are watching the

My mistake. When I saw the post, I immediately flashed back to all those posts that said that Flynn sucked without providing proof as to how Flynn sucked. All they said is, "The team performed well even with Flynn in as QB, therefore Flynn must suck." Meanwhile, these same people are so in love with Tannehill that they can't see that he is just a warmed-over version of Henne, and with less success in college than Henne and perhaps was one of the biggest reasons Mike Sherman was out of a job in December! That's why I called them ignorant, because they talk out of both sides of their mouths at the same time. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't. If we can get Flynn for $25 million, great. If Philbin thinks he's worth more, fine. If Philbin thinks he's trash, that's fine with me, too. I'm just sick and tired of the Flynn-haters saying, "I don't care about his on-field performance, because he sucks," while saying of Tannehill, "I don't care about his on-field performance, because he's awesome." They're hypocrites and people I don't want catching me from behind if I fall.

And next time, post a link before posting your opinion. It's getting as bad as those "Report: Manning signs with X" posts I've been seeing the past few days in terms of absolute stupidity.

i posted this thread 3 am or so and forget where I read it. You have your link and if Flynn is our QB I can live with that.
Good day fellow fin fan.

Maybe, just maybe our FO is playing this well. The whole world knows our new HC has the best knowledge on Flynn. Our perceived lack of interest is driving the market down. Or maybe he just sucks, but king wrote a very interesting article on Flynn, and thinks he can play in the NFL

If he is that good, I really would be angry that Philbin and the FO are taking such a risk lowballing our hopeful franchise QB.

I have a hard time beleiving he is good as some of you proclaim....day 3 of FA, not visiting from what I heard yet.

If anybody would know if he could start in this league, it has to be his old Offensive Coordinator. I'll wait to see what happens with Flynn before I pass judgement because honestly none of us know more than Philbin regarding Flynn. I just know that he had 2 good games against 2 pretty good teams and was a 7th rounder out of LSU.

If you trust Philbin's judgement....and he hasn't even visited yet, or been offered a contract with our problems at QB.....isn't that saying something?

Ross may have insisted that they go after Manning. The Fins lack of interest in Flynn may be to see his precieved value while not tipping their hand or conceding Peyton just yet.Unless Seattle makes a monster
offer I still think Flynn is their second choose. We shall see.

I know that he coached him up. I'm pretty sure he knows if the kid can play or not. I don't know why we haven't called him in for a visit just like you but I would trust that the Coach knows what Flynn's about. So, I would trust Philbin's judgement on this one, yeah.

So...Philbin has the strength to get rid of our top WR....but not enough to get the QB he wants? Ok, I'll take it....but I have trouble believing that if Flynn actually is Philbin's man.
