Matt Flynn coming back to earth

That's true...top flight Qbs that become available do not last pass a day without teams fighting tooth and nail for a chance at em.

It seems that Philbin and Sherman would rather role the dice on a young Qb through the draft then risk a couple years with Flynn.

Flynn may never amount to a true top flight Qb, but with enough talent around may win you 10 - 11 games per year. You get a franchise guy, the talent around need not be as superb to net you 10 - 11 wins a year. Hence the gamble on a younger guy, reward far outweighs the risk. Always will.

If anything, Philbin + Sherman will be given 3 - 4 years to find and develop a young franchise quarterback. That's what they were hired to do, and that's what they'll be devoting their entire resources to.

If Peyton goes elsewhere and they do not jump on Flynn immediately we'll have our answer and it maybe just what you posted.

So...Philbin has the strength to get rid of our top WR....but not enough to get the QB he wants? Ok, I'll take it....but I have trouble believing that if Flynn actually is Philbin's man.

i think its coming from the top ie ross that til manning decides we don't do anything else...after that then i think we'll find out with quickness how much philbin likes matt flynn...shouldn't take long once manning ends the drama

another thing though is if matt flynn was looking at backup money why wouldn't he just stay in green bay??? if you got to come in and compete with a matt moore or a tavaris jackson and make high level backup money why not go back and sit behind aaron rodgers

i'm just not seeing it...but if miami isn't interested after the manning decision falls no question his market will take a hit...i think he's waiting for us to drive his market though
