**** Matt Flynn! I want Manning!

Peyton is 1 hit away from retirement. Might as well being Marino back if we're gonna go that route. Why waste another year?

Manning will never be the same.

Having a neck surgery is the worse thing for anybody, athlete or not, it also doesn't matter what kind of medical intelligence that is available to you, its still a surgical procedure of the neck. Which effects alot more than people think, ypu don't realize how much you neck is involved with daily motion until you get surgery on it.

I believe in a medical miracle for Manning in Miami next season.

Qadry Ismail had this same kind of surgery and he said he was never the same again and realised rather quick that his days were finished. All it takes is one hit and that project is done. Also, it's been said that Manning was bascially his own Offensive Coordinator and called his own plays. Now will another team or coach allow him to do the same or will they expect him to adjust to the offense that is installed, especially since it looks like it's going to be the WCO...finally, IF, and I know it's not certain, we can get Flynn, then we have a YOUNG quarterback that we can grow and build with that can be the future hopefully and not just a 2-3 year stop gap, IF THAT!!! I love Peyton, but, I don't want to see him jeopardize his health because he feels as if he has something to prove.

no one is the same after cervical fusion, he will not get back full strength in his shoulder, the surgery is done to stop it from getting worse, the guy is going to retire

Listen to Bonedoc, he knows what he's talking about. Manning isn't going to 'heal' from this surgery. He is injured for the rest of his life. The surgery, as already said, is to prevent further damage. It's not even a procedure with a high rate of success.

Listen, I would love to have Peyton here for 5 years if he were healthy. But he won't be. I'm sorry, he's just not. It sucks and it's a lousy end to a great career, but it is what it is. This is very similar to what ended his brother's career in college.

If he comes back and he is the same guy, or even better than before, then you can spit this post back out in my face, but I think that scenario is about as likely as the Patriots cutting Tom Brady in camp this year.

I agree with the original poster. If this is doable it would really solve the Q.B. problem for a long time.#1 Trade Matt Moore, #2 Get Peyton Manning as long as he is healthy,#3 Aquire Flynn as backup and insurance against injury. I understand this is expensive but we have negleted Q.B. for so long it's insane already. This gives us a bonifide superster starter and a hell of a backup to bring along in the Dolphin system. If we could pull this off we would be aces at the most important position on the team and it would really ignite the fanbase in a big way.
