Matt Flynn "is a top 15 quarterback" - so is Matt Moore...

the purpose of signing Flynn is

1. knowing and help implementing the WC system
2. potential to be top dog
3. should come on the cheap, do to his lack of suitors and lack of experience

Don't tell them that, they want Dave Krieg Jr.

I agree with what many others have said. I wanted Manning too but since we didn't get him I don't want to panic. Matt Moore is a proven commodity as apposed to Matt Flynn. I know what he can do and I have confidence in it. I mean he can't turn water into wine but he's definitely solid. I would rather not commit money to a question mark guy that I feel wouldn't be a major upgrade over what we have. It is what it is at this point. Use that money and continue to improve the team by plugging holes through the draft with the extra 3rd we can package it and move up to get an impact WR and sign some marginal free agents where we won't have commit to a major overpay. My biggest worry with this is that I have to believe in our front office to pick the right guys to improve the team.

:up: i agree too, give moore a shot, get him some weopons, draft tannehill or weeden, a good wr like blackmon or floyd, maybe get manningham. fleener? but i wanna see that defence get nasty.

Top 15 overall stat wise? Yes. But that 192 yards per game average is bottom 5. Our next QB has to throw for at least 250-300 yards a game in today's NFL. That's something that Beck, Fiedler, Henne, etc, etc, etc....couldn't do.

its starting to look like this is whats going to happen, except i dont think we get blackmon.

Matt Moore goes hard. You can hate if you want to but that don't change his rating. Moore easily is a TOP TEN QB with help from the oline and Marshall catching some of those damn drops. Get the guy some help. He can't throw block n catch. Jeez.

QB rating doesn't calculate in the fact that he fumbles more than once per game, which is simply insane. Add 13 more int's, to simulate the fumbles, then see what his QB rating is...

Not exactly... that's unless more interceptions are also recovered by you or your own team.

FWIW, Moore did fumble a lot, but then again, he had Columbo at the gates. But putting that into perspective, he lost 6 of them to the opponents. That's as many as Flacco and Tebow lost, and 2 less than Sanchez's 8, 1 less than Bradford's 7 lost, and only 1 more fumble lost resulting in a turnover than Big Ben, Josh Freeman and Phillip Rivers coughed up. Yes it's a lot, especially considering many of the others excepting Tebow coughed those numbers up in 15-16 games vs Moore's 13, but on the other hand, as bad as Carolina was, in 280 snaps Moore only fumbled 6 times and lost but 2 of 'em.

Moveover, Moore has made those bad teams he played parts of seasons better when he was under center. It's no coincidence that for the years he started on under-performing teams, obviously the Fins included, his overall starting record is 13-12 compared to those teams winning at an overall 36.5% rate. I'd consider that "uplifting bad teams."
