Matt Flynn & Joe Philbin have a good relationship, McCarthy says Flynn is ready

Green Bay can't tag Flynn, he'll sign it immediately and guarantee himself 18 or so mill for a year. GB wouldn't have leverage, can't see them playing with that kind of money.

they would tag him with the intention of trading him

you dont think some team will give up a high pick and take the chance? Between Miami, Seattle, Redskins some team will do it.

BUT, if the promising and exciting Joe Philbin, who knows Flynn better than most any other coaching professional does in fact enthusiastically want him, then that would be good enough for me and I'll be onboard.
Agree.

Who are we to argue with Philbin.

Al had 4 touchdowns in a single game too!!! And he took the bears to a superbowl...Why arent we look at him more?

Why would they tag him and agree to pay him 14+ million for 2012 with the uncertainty of a trade? No one is going to give up a pick and be committed to a $14+ million dollar 1 year contract. Also, the new CBA apparently prevents sign and trade. If so, they are stuck paying huge money (more than Rogers) for a back up QB. Not going to happen. A lot of risk just to attempt to pick up a draft pick. Very little incentive for Flynn to agree to a new contract before being traded as he is better of on the Free Agent market. Not to mention the cap ramifications for the Packers.
