Matt flynn vs RGIII

RG3 is attractive as ticket seller. Every GM on the NFL is looking for flashy Tebow-like QB that could create some RG3mania on their fan base.

But as exposed by the fact that Tim Tebow got serious chest injuries during the Patriots game, he won't last five more years playing his current style. So as RG3 is smaller than Tebow or Vick, you can expect Pat White's results.

I mean Pat excelled at College but his body frame probed to be too fragile for Pro-level, while Tebow was unable to play golf after half season starting at Broncos. This style of play is just too risky for a franchise QB.

Who was the last running QB to play at SB? Hard to say.

Also Philbin wants something similar of what he used with the Packers, and Flynn offers that and a better chance to win and have some successful years, not just a one season wonder.

The cost?

Well, RG3 trade would cost us at least 2012 1st round, 2012 2nd round plus 2013 3rd round. That and 2nd pick overall will be above of Von Miller's 4 years contact worth of $21 million.

On the other hand Kevin Kolb signed a $63,000,000 contract ($21 M Warranted) for 5 years. That's some times above of the sum of all Dolphins QB's of 2011!!

I don't expect Mr. Ireland to invest all those millions on one single guy, but Matt Flynn will have a pretty creative and huge contract, incentive centered.

I see that as the best way to hire a franchise QB, allowing this team to start a rebuilding without wasting important draft picks and keeping room for adding some key free agents.

Of course that if there's a chance Peyton Manning might end his carer in Miami, Mr. Ross will push for that.

Its a win now league.......Jeff Ireland knows this....Peyton Manning (if healthy) is our guy.

I think that's a dream that won't become true.

Peyton Manning is recovering from a pair of neck surgeries involving NERVE REGENERATION on his throwing arm.

Every neurologist might offer different expectations on this, but the fact is a nerve can regenerate in weeks, months or years and there's no timetable about it.

This means that Mr. Manning could be throwing in March, April or September, but there's a big chance he can't throw until 2013 or 2014.

Another fact is Peyton will be a free agent before the combine.

So a very desperate team could sign him no matter what's left of his arm, I hope Dolphins stay out of such list until knowing the real state of his arm.

The only one who needs to stfu is you dick head... I usually don't like calling people out.. but could not help but point out how dumb and stupid you are...

Geez get of RGIII dick already

Reading is fundamental...If you read my posts, all I did was say RGIII had abetter college career than Flynn. that is not even debateable. I called the article dumb, because the only way to compare Flynn and RGIII is based on what they have done in college, because that is their common ground to this point. you wanted to assume I did not read the little stupid slideshow article, that went on to talk about the compensation needed to acquire each QB, which we all knew already. And as someone who has worked as a journalist in the past, the article is DUMB....probably why it appealed to YOU. Instead of name calling, why don't you try defeating a weaker argument with a stronger one.

The article is not dumb, you are just too lazy to think. It talks about facts and they are:
1- Cost to move up for RGIII vs just sign Flynn and keep the picks
2- Arm strength
3- Athleticism
4- Accuracy
5- experience

Your other post about Flynn being a 7th rounder and RGIII being a top 5 pick is comical. Brady was a 6th round pick, Romo was undrafted and Matthew Schaub was a 3d or a 4th round pick , joe montana was a 3rd round pick.

I also would like to remind you that Tim Couch was a top 5 pick, so as Ryan Leaf , Akili Smith.

Where the QB is drafted has nothing to do with how good or bad he is going to be.

EXACTLY... and a QB with two NFL starts with a team the caliber of the Packers means nothing as well. People talk about the 6 TD-pass game. Watch the you tube video. It's a joke. 4 passes that were either screens or less than 10 yards downfield and a long pass that was underthrown but the receiver was wide open. Only one impressive TD pass of the 6. I'm not saying Flynn sucks, but my bet is that he isn't much better than Matt Moore, if he's even better than him. I like Moore's mobility and football is a team game, sign another OL, draft another OL and give our QB the time that Tom Brady gets and we'll be better no matter who is passing the ball.

Flynn's LSU championship team ran the ball like 70% of the time. He couldn't beat out Jamarcus Russell for the starting spot, and he wasn't a fan favorite.

I was NOT impressed with his Detroit game where he threw a couple high arcing slow passes for deep completions that could easily be picked off once teams get some tape on him and see his play style and game plan for it. Also, some of his other TD's were just dumpoff passes that WR's and RB's took to the house. He really didn't look that impressive to me. I don't think he is an upgrade over Moore but i wouldn't mind if the fins picked him up for competition to push Moore. Also, they should still draft another potential franchise QB even if they do pickup Flynn. I would like them to try and get Tannehill, Weeden, or Wilson in the second round.

This...

I was starting to look at Tannehil, you gotta believe he is the guy the fins are targeting.

On most boards I've looked at he is projected in the top ten. Yikes...

Moore could very well be better than rg3 and Flynn. I would pay Flynn and try and get Tannehil but that doesn't seem likely...

Either way, Moore is really getting disrespected BIG TIME by all the casual fans and full time forum posters. Look at what he did last year before you are so quick to ditch him. Remember what happened when we signed Dante. Ferrotte got no respect and look at what happened to us. Moore is better than Ferrotte.
