Seems like every year a team reaches at the qb position via trade or a high contract.

Do you think if Moore wins out and gets us to the play offs the fins would get some offers and what would you let him go for?

We'll trade him to Cleveland for the #1

Because, Cleveland. :chuckle:

I still think we are going to be a run heavy team. I don't think anyone is going to give something crazy for a QB who will be 33 years old.

if he can net us a 3rd or 4th round pick that would be amazing also Romo will be the target for everyone in the off-season i am guessing.

He's not expensive so if he plays well, and wants to stay then yeah you resign a guy that's started 33 career games and won 17. Not easy to find on someone else's scrap heap or in the 7th round.

If he gets us to the playoffs im okay with another 2 year 9 million dollar deal

It's moments like this you pay Matt Moore for. If he flounders here we may as well follow the trend of the rest of the league and ho with a ham and egger backup QB.

its amazing how many good backups we've had, from Earl Morall to Strock to Scott Mitchell even

JMHO, if MM plays well, Miami will want him back. If he plays poorly, no trade value.

There was a season Moore started for the Panthers, I think he went 6 -0 or something but they figured him out quickly. He gambles a lot and doesn't do too well against the blitz (his last pass vs the Cardinals was almost an INt.)

If he gets us to the playoffs with two wins, then he will be a hot commodity as a stop gap. He will not be expensive, and he will have a 15-13 record as a starter at least if we make the playoffs. He has to win two at least to get us to the post season.

if matt was going to be a starter it would have been 5 years ago

I don't think we'd get an offer unless another team's starter goes down mid-season and their backup isn't up to the task. And then, it would be no better than a 5th rounder, I imagine. I'd rather keep him. As tough as Tannehill is, you need a good backup when your QB gets hit as much as he does. Such a need is clearly illustrated right now.

I think the most likely scenario is that Matt Moore plays well enough to win us a couple of games in outrageously bad weather conditions and comes back as the #2 quarterback for us in 2017.

Hope I'm right.

Moore is under a low cost contract, is competent as a QB, good in the QB room and 17 loves him. I think he's here until he retires.
