Matt Moore was interviewed on the 3/23 episode of the Finsiders podcast after signing his new contract - LINK

A few of the points he made...
- Jarvis Landry will be the leader of receivers room regardless of who is in there.
- Matt Hazel has really impressed Moore, he spoke highly of him - I was encouraged to hear this.
- The foundation Joe Philbin has laid played a big role in his return to the team - basically said he likes what Philbin is doing

Discuss...Feel free to add the points I missed in this thread, was multitasking while listening.

Well clearly Matt Moore has no clue about football otherwise he would know that Philbin is the worst coach to ever carry the moniker of coach. He needs to visit fin heaven to learn about football and how awful Philbin is.

The Jarvis Landry bit is not a surprise. This may be why we are not worried about getting a vet.
The Hazel thing is really heartening.
Philbin- Well I suspect he is not nearly as reviled within the org than outside of it. There clearly were malcontents, but it just wasnt that universal

LOL....my thoughts exactly. Funny how we pretty much only hear this stuff about Philbin on the forums. It's cool though, that's why there is a forum and frankly Finheaven is much better in this regard than the other major fins forum I used to lurk on.

I'm interested to see the progress Hazel has made this year. He looked pretty solid in the final preseason game but that was against major scrubs. He's got decent speed, if his route running and understanding of the game has improved he'll make the 53.

Regardless of Philbin's outcome ... this was funny. Well done, sir.

excited about Matt Hazel.

I just hope Jarvis doesn't have a injury i really wish because hes going to have a good year.

Guys come on, even if you love Philbin or hate Philbin... the guy just signed a few million dollar deal. Hes going to say this type of **** about Philbin. Now, the Landry and Hazel stuff - I like hearing that

What no talk of Rishard? I thought he was the next coming.

While I agree to a point, if i recall correctly he wasn't asked about Philbin (in which case yes, of course he will talk him up), rather just about deciding to come back, and noted Philbin as a major factor.

I recall him saying something along the lines of "He has proven he can catch the ball"....he mentioned him, didn't call him an ass or anything like that :chuckle:

If he makes the 53 then who gets cut or placed on PS? We're either signing a vet or drafting a guy. That's 6-7 receivers.

Well , I think philbin will prove a lot of people wrong this year .... But you know Miami. Super Bowl or they'll throw rocks at him

That comment about Philbin impresses me. It isn't like Matt Moore couldn't find a job on about half the teams in the league. Some teams would have let him compete for the starter spot. He must really like Philbin, or really hate income tax on principle alone.

Landry, Stills, Matthews, Hazel, Vet/Rookie. Has any other receiver on the roster even caught a pass?

I see them going after a guy with size but I am not buying them drafting a WR in round 1. I could honestly see us trading back in the 1st round to get a 3rd round pick back, I truly believe they want to give last years draft class a real shot to shine. They must have seen things during practice they love, because almost every one of these guys is being giving a real shot next year.
